- 10 - <br /> Sump/Covers: Sump pits must have solid 1-piece covers (e.g. Fiberglas, <br /> 1/2 inch COX plywood, steel) which are secured to the top and can hold <br /> the weight of an adult. The sump effluent from a drain tile system <br /> cannot empty into the city sanitary sewer system but must be., diverted <br /> into the yard away from the house. <br /> KITCHEN <br /> 33.' Walls and Ceiling: Must..be in good condition. <br /> Floor Covering: If kitchen floor cannot be maintained in a sanitary <br /> condition because it is deteriorated or has cracked or missing sections, <br /> it must be replaced with new resilient flooring over a suitable <br /> underlay. <br /> Kitchen carpeting must be securely attached to the floor and well <br /> maintained. The underlay must be in good repair and provide a flat, <br /> intact base for the carpet. <br /> 34. Electrical : Electrical outlets within six feet of the kitchen sink must <br /> be either: <br /> a grounded three-prong duplex electrical outlet. <br /> interrupter (GFI) outlet. (Ungrounded outlets must be .replaced <br /> with a ground-fault-interrupter outlet.) The outlet supplying <br /> power to the kitchen refrigerator must be a grounded three-prong <br /> outlet. <br /> 35. Plumbing: Leaking faucets must be corrected. The dishwasher waste line <br /> must. loop up to be secured tightly against the underside of countertop. <br /> 36. Water Pressure: Must conform to requirements as . stated in item 31 <br /> "Water Pressure and Rate of Flow". <br /> 37. Flex Gas Line: Is not allowed. The stove hook-up must rigid iron pipe <br /> or copper tube with flared fittings. The stove gas shut-off valve does <br /> not have to be located in the kitchen, (on gas pipe below floor in <br /> basement is acceptable) . <br /> 38. Countertop: Must be in good repair and able to be maintained in a <br /> sanitary condition. <br /> .LIVING AND DINING ROOMS <br /> 39. Walls and Ceilings: Must be in good repair. <br /> Floor: Must be in good repair. <br /> Windows: Must. be in good repair. <br /> 40. Electrical Outlets: At:'least ,two separate floor or wall duplex electric <br /> outlets are required in' habi-table rooms with 120 square feet of floor <br /> space or less. An additional duplex electric receptacle is required for <br /> each additional 80 square feet of floor space. If possible, outlets <br /> should be spaced an equal distance apart°from one another. <br />
