1 Hank Hellerman's Three Decades of Business Association with St. Anthony <br /> •2 to Be Acknowledged by Council <br /> 3 Councilmember Ranallo reported that the ownership of the barbershop <br /> 4 which Mr. Hellerman had operated for over 30 years in the same Kenzie <br /> 5 Terrace location had been transferred to an Apache barber the first of <br /> 6 the year and he perceived it would be a nice gesture on the Council's <br /> 7 part to have a letter sent to Mr. Hellerman thanking him for his years <br /> 8 of service to the community. <br /> 9 St Anthony's State Representatives to Host Community Town Meeting, <br /> 10 January 14th <br /> 11 Councilmember Ranallo reminded the Councilmembers that Senator John <br /> 12 Marty and Representative Mary Jo McGuire had invited their constituents <br /> 13 to meet with them at the Roseville City Hall Saturday morning for <br /> 14 discussions of the 1989 legislative session and issues of concern to the <br /> 15 residents in District 63A. Several Councilmembers reported having <br /> 16 returned the survey the two legislators had included with their <br /> 17 invitation to join them for an exchange of ideas. <br /> 18 Councilmember Marks Perceives Ramsey County Railroad Authority to be <br /> 19 Behind Other Counties When It Comes to Light Rail Planning <br /> 20 The Councilmember indicated he had attended the first meeting of above <br /> 21 Ramsey County intergovernmental planning body which was held in the St. <br /> 22 Paul courthouse, January 3rd. He perceived Ramsey County's efforts <br /> 03 towards planning for light rail were far behind what Hennepin and Anoka <br /> 4 Counties had already accomplished. Hennepin County Commissioner Spartz <br /> 25 was present and Councilmember Marks indicated that plans were being made <br /> 26 not only for direct corridors to Minneapolis and St. Paul but for <br /> 27 coordinated connections between the two cities. <br /> 28 Youth Service Bureau Board to Hold Strategic Planning Retreat the <br /> 29 Following Weekend <br /> 30 Councilmember Marks, who Chairs. the above Board, indicated the planning <br /> 31 would include personnel training on which he had been attending numerous <br /> 32 meetings to prepare for those discussions. <br /> 33 Councilmember Marks to Teach in New International School and at <br /> 34 Metropolitan University <br /> 35 He will become one of the first teachers conducting classes in the new <br /> 36 International Center for Technology, Business and Law to open later in <br /> 37 January., Councilmember Marks announced.
