3.5.18 From time to time there may be several different Contractors performing the <br /> Work, or certain portions of the Work may be performed by the City's own forces. <br /> The Architect shall assist the City and the Contractor in preparing schedules to <br /> coordinate such activities. <br /> 3.5.19 The Architect shall submit to the City written explanations of any change <br /> orders to the Contract(s) if those change orders result from errors or omissions <br /> relating to the Drawings and Specifications. The Architect shall be responsible for <br /> any additional costs to the City which result from errors or omissions in the <br /> Drawings or Specifications if those errors or omissions were caused by the Architect. <br /> 3.5.20 No changes in Drawings or Specifications approved by the City shall be <br /> permitted without the City's prior written consent. <br /> ARTICLE 4. ARCHITECT'S ADDITIONAL SERVICES. <br /> 4.1 As soon as practicable after receiving the Specifications from the City, the <br /> Architect shall, with the cooperation of the City, prepare a time schedule of <br /> planning design and review activities of the Architect, engineers, the City, and all <br /> others from whom service or information is required throughout each design phase <br /> of the Project. <br /> 4.2 The Architect accepts the responsibility for the payment of normal engineering <br /> services, including electrical, mechanical and structural, and all others employed by <br /> it in the preparation of the Drawings and Specifications and the construction of the <br /> proposed Project. The Architect may provide services of special consultants if <br /> authorized in writing by the City. The Architect will be reimbursed by the City for <br /> said services. <br /> 4.3 The Architect, in cooperation with the City's representative, shall determine the <br /> valuation of the Work of any Contractor when only partially done. <br /> 4.4 If more extensive representation at the Site than is described under <br /> Subparagraph 3.5.4 is required, and if the City and Architect agree, the Architect shall <br /> provide one or more Project Representatives to assist the Architect. Such Project <br /> Representatives shall be selected by the Architect, and approved by the City, <br /> employed and directed by the Architect, and the Architect shall be compensated <br /> therefore as mutually agreed between the City and the Architect in writing. The <br /> duties, responsibilities and limitations of authority of such Project Representatives <br /> shall be-set forth in writing. The Architect shall endeavor to provide further <br /> protection for the City against defects in the Work through the Project <br /> Representative, but the furnishing of such Project representation shall not make the <br /> Architect a guarantor of the Contractor's(s') performance of the Work in accordance <br /> -9- <br />
