He noted that these <br /> 6 sales are not being looked at as a funding source but rather as a retail <br /> 7 enhancement. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Councilmember Makowske inquired if these operations are licensed every <br /> 10 year. She was advised that this is the case. She wondered if the City <br /> 11 would incur an impairment if it were to wait until the next year to <br /> 12 implement the sale of lottery tickets. The City Manager felt this may <br /> 13 have a negative effect. He noted that the State Gambling Commission may <br /> 14 limit the number of sites initially for these sales. He noted that <br /> 15 this has not been decided regarding municipalities. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Councilmember Marks felt the City should not get involved in any form <br /> 18 of gambling and the City would be better off staying away from lottery <br /> 19 ticket sales all together. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Motion by Ranallo, second by Enrooth to apply for two licenses for the <br /> 22 municipal off-sale liquor stores. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Roll call : Enrooth, Ranallo - aye <br /> �5 Makowske, Marks - nay <br /> 26 <br /> 27.
