REVIEW CENTRAL AND SILVER POINT PARKS WITH WSB,INC. <br /> 2 Hubmer reviewed drawings of the park proposals, and asked the Commission to move <br /> 3 toward final a concept plan. In addition,he modified cross-sections of the drawings to <br /> 4 provide Commission members.with more information: He also showed the depths of cuts <br /> 5 as compared to current park conditions. He stated that the.concern was over installing an <br /> .6 adult softball field. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Wolff asked if a child-sized soccer field could be added. Hubmer replied that yes,this <br /> 9 could be added. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Morris asked if the two ball fields would be on the same level. Hubmer replied that yes, <br /> 12 the levels would be the same. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Louiselle asked about the depth of the hockey field as compared to that of the softball <br /> 15 field. Hubmer reviewed these dimensions. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Wagner asked the size of the "adult" field. Hubmer answered that this field would <br /> 18 measure 260 to 300 feet. <br /> 19 <br /> Wagner stated that Community Service is concerned over.the loss of the adult field. He <br /> added that there is presently a shortage of adult fields. <br /> 2 <br /> 23 Hubmer asked whether there is a plan for Central Park to install an adult field. Wagner <br /> 24 replied that yes,this is planned,but not in the near future. He stated responses to surveys <br /> 25 have indicated that Silver Point Park is preferred for an adult field. <br /> 26 Louiselle stated that he has observed several games, and believes Silver Point Park is <br /> 27 more adequate for youth games, as it is a smaller space. He stated he hasn't seen an adult <br /> 28 game there. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Lambrecht agreed that Silver Point Park seems smaller than Central Park, and may appear <br /> 31 more family-oriented with its playground and picnic area. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Kosciolek asked about trends in adult softball. Wagner replied that adult softball trends <br /> 34 are maintaining. He added that some interest decreased when it appeared there would be <br /> 35 a lack of field space,but that has reverted back again. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Morris asked how many softball players are St. Anthony residents. Wagner stated that <br /> 38 softball teams are filed as residents,and most do live or have lived in St. Anthony. He <br /> 39 added that it's not a requirement for softball players to be residents of the City they play <br /> in. He said sports boosters work this way as well. <br />
