There is a fire code violation in each case, as there is not a one . hour fire separation for the windows which open into the carport area. Now , however, the City would not incur any responsibility should a fire occur because it (the City) is on record requesting the situation be rectified . Mr. Hamer also mentioned the following items : (l) The handicap signs in the Parkview parking lot will be replaced with signs which meet the uniform sign regulations . (.2) The high snow banks which have accumulated next to driveways will be cleared away by the City by request only . In the past , when this was done as a matter of course , claims for cracked driveways or torn lawns became too expensive . (3) Snow storage has become a problem for the City as well as the County . St. Anthony ' s sidewalks cannot be plowed until the County disposes of the large accumulation of snow on its streets , especially on Kenzie Terrace and Silver Lake Road . Mr. Hamer also thanked the .Fire Department for the time and effort spent clearing the City ' s fire hydrants of snow. There then ensued a lengthy discussion , lead by Mr. Hamer , regarding the St. Anthony Boulevard bridge . He informed those present the bridge reconstruction is a "go" . The detour needed for this project appears to be acceptable to the Council (Stinson to Highway 8) - Ridgeway will not be marked as a detour because it ..'.s felt the street could not handle the amount of traffic. Ray Nelson expressed his concerns the detour will have on the Stonehouse ' s business . This lead to a discussion on the time schedule for the project . Mr. Hamer indicated he felt there should be a time schedule in the engineer ' s contract (Short-Elliott-Hendrickson) and penalties if the work is too slow. Chief Entner expressed his own concern on the traffic problems which will be generated from this project and how this will affect the Fire Department ' s calls to the golf course area. Mr. Hamer speculated the project would take at least 2 , and more than likely 3 or 4 , months to complete . Ray Nelson reported on a recent Health Department inspection done at liquor store #1 (.Kenzie Terrace) . He said the inspector had a list of suggestions and comments , but stated she had never seen a cleaner bar. He thanked Mr. Hamer on the excellent job t�'.e Public Works Department did keeping the parking lots plowed. Chief Hickerson indicated he had received complaints concerning a private alley off Highway 8 not being plowed . Appar.ently , the problem is who should remove the snow. Chief Entner had spoken with the owners about the matter . The City could plow it , for a charge , or • charges could be brought forth on violation of the City ' s public nuisance ordinance . Chief Hickerson also mentioned Sgt . Puffer had been in the office after his operation and was feeling well .
