• chemicals , including those substances listed in the United <br /> States Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials <br /> Table (49 CFR 172 . 101) . <br /> (b) Refuse from butcher shops , rendering establishments , <br /> packing houses and other industrial establishments . <br /> (c) Refuse, either liquid or solid, of such character, <br /> quality or nature that will unreasonably interfere with the <br /> ordinary treatment processes of any sewage treatment plant . <br /> (d) Items prohibited by State law. <br /> 400 . 14 Inspection and Repairs . The plumbing inspector has the <br /> right to enter upon any premises or into any building within <br /> the City at all the reasonable hours , to inspect the sewers and <br /> drains and traps and fixtures connected with the sewer. If it <br /> is found from such inspection or otherwise that the provisions <br /> of law are not being complied with in any respect or that any <br /> part of the drainage system is in need of clearing out or <br /> repairs , the plumbing inspector shall serve a notice upon the <br /> owner and the occupant specifying the work to be done to make <br /> the sewer system comply with the law, or to put it in good <br /> working condition. The notice will also specify such time as <br /> is reasonable, considering the amount of work to be done and <br /> the nature of the emergency, within which the defects must be <br /> • remedied . It will then become the duty of every person served <br /> with such notice to comply with it ; and if the notice is not <br /> complied with, the Council may cause the work to be done at the <br /> expense of any person so served . <br /> 400 . 15 Street Excavating . No person may make any excavation <br /> in any street, sidewalk or public ground without first having <br /> secured a permit from the Clerk. The fee for such permit is <br /> the amount set forth in Chapter 6 of this Code . 'When a fee is <br /> paid for a sewer construction permit or a permit to connect <br /> with the water supply, the excavation permit for the necessary <br /> digging incidental to the installation of such sewer or water <br /> pipes shall also be obtained . <br /> 400 . 16 Surety Bond . If the applicant for an excavation permit <br /> is any person other than a licensed plumber with a bond already <br /> on file, the applicant must file a bond of the same sort <br /> required to be filed by every licensed plumber with the Clerk <br /> before the permit will be issued . <br /> • <br /> 4-3 <br />
