Request from Evergreen Townhomes <br /> P Dave Newman, legal counsel for Evergreen Townhomes built by Nedegaard <br /> 9 Builders, sent a letter to the City requesting permission to leave in <br /> place a fence located at the Evergreen Townhome development. A survey <br /> was conducted and it was found that- the fence is from .three inches to <br /> 12 fifteen inches into the public right-of-way. The request is for <br /> 13 a license to leave the fence at its present location. The City Attorney <br /> i4 will review the matter. It was noted that the firm was advised if the <br /> 15 fence were to be damaged more than fifty percent or need to be replaced, <br /> 16 it will have to be located in the correct place out of the public right- <br /> 17 of-way. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 4. Public Works Personnel <br /> 20 Presently, the Public Works Department is short four employees . <br /> 21 One vacancy occurred when a replacement was not hired to fill a <br /> 22 position left by a retiring employee. The other three absences are <br /> 23 due to various reasons of each employee. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 The City Manager noted that because of these vacancies in the Depart- <br /> 26 ment the trail near Autumn Woods may not be completed in a -timely <br /> 27 manner. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Students who fill seasonal positions will be coming on board in June. <br /> 30 The City Manager has requested property owners whose property is <br /> 31 located near Old Highway #8 to -now the grass in that area. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Councilmember Marks inquired when the crosswalks in the City will <br /> 54 be painted. He was advised this item is on the list of tasks to <br /> 35 be completed this summer or fall . <br /> 36 <br /> 37 5. Proposal from Walgreen Drug Stores <br /> 38 A realtor has 'contacted the City Manager regarding a proposal for the <br /> 39 location of a Walgreen Drug Store on the triangular parcel in. an area <br /> J10 south of St. Anthony Boulevard and east of Coolidge. The realtor is <br /> 41 presently working on purchase agreements for Rosie's Cafe and a home <br /> 42 located in the area. The realtor is requesting the City to require <br /> J,3 no variances. <br /> 44 <br /> br, The City Manager is concerned with the location being so close to a <br /> 46 residential area but noted that this building would be permitted <br /> 47 under the present zoning. <br /> 48 <br /> J49 Mayor Ranllo felt the realtor should consider locating in one of the <br /> 50 two shopping centers in the City since both of them have vacant <br />
