Section 305 - PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> 305.01 Character of Planning Commission. The Planning Commission of the City is <br /> the planning agency within the meaning of Minn. Stat. §§ 462.351-.365. In such <br /> capacity, the Planning Commission will be advisory to the Council. <br /> 305.02 Membership.. The Commission will consist of seven members, all of whom <br /> will be residents of the City appointed by affirmative vote of a majority of the <br /> members of the Council. Three members were appointed for a three-year term <br /> expiring December 31, 1985, two members were appointed for a two-year term <br /> expiring December 31, 1984, and two members were appointed for a one-year term <br /> expiring December 31, 1983. <br /> All subsequent appointments or renewals will be for a three-year term except where <br /> a•vacancy occurs in the middle of a term, in which case the appointment will be for <br /> the duration of the unexpired term. <br /> A member whose term is expiring must be notified by the City Manager 60 days in <br /> advance of expiration of the term, and the member must indicate in writing his or <br /> her desire to be reappointed to another term. <br /> 305.03 Vacancies. Any of the following will cause the office of a Planning <br /> Commission member to become vacated: <br /> (a) Death. <br /> (b) Disability or failure to serve. <br /> (c) Removal of legal residence from the .City. <br /> (d) Resignation in writing. <br /> (e) Failure to uphold the oath of office. <br /> (f) Failure to attend 4 or,more scheduled meetings of the Planning <br /> Commission in a calendar year, unless waived by the Council after a <br /> written request from the member. <br /> The City Manager will keep a list of all residents of the City who have expressed in <br /> writing an interest in serving on the Planning Commission. When the Council is <br /> notified that a vacancy exists or is about to exist, the person's on the list will be <br /> informed by mail of the vacancy and asked to indicate their continuing interest in <br /> the position and willingness to be interviewed. Failure of persons to respond' in <br /> writing to express their willingness to be interviewed may cause their names to be <br /> 3-12 <br />
