The Council will set a time and place for interviewing those <br /> residents who have responded and indicated a continuing desire to serve on the <br /> Planning Commission and written notice of the time and place will be sent to those <br /> residents who are on the list. The City will also publish an open invitation to all <br /> residents interested in serving on the Planning Commission to inform the City <br /> Manager in writing of their interest and. desire to be interviewed. <br /> After the interviews are completed and the vacancy filled, the City Manager will <br /> prepare and maintain a list of all residents who appeared for the interviews and <br /> wish to remain on the list and all other residents who express in writing a desire to <br /> serve. <br /> Failure to follow the above procedures will not invalidate the appointment of any <br /> member to the Planning Commission. Vacancies will be filled by the Council as <br /> soon as may be practicable for the unexpired portion of a term. <br /> 305.04 Compensation. Planning Commission members will serve without <br /> compensation. <br /> 305.05 Organization. The Commission will appoint a secretary, who may but need <br /> not be.a member of the Commission. The Commission will hold at least one <br /> regular meeting every month. At the first meeting of each year, the Commission <br /> f <br /> will arrange the dates of its regular monthly meetings through the end of that year. <br /> 305.06 Powers and Duties. The Planning Commission will: <br /> (a) Review and.make recommendations to the Council as to a <br /> comprehensive municipal plan, including the land use plan, a <br /> community facilities plan, a transportation plan and recommendations <br /> for plan adoption and execution. <br /> (b) Consider and make recommendations to the Council as to all proposed <br /> subdivisions and plats. <br /> (c) Consider and make recommendations to the Council as to all proposed <br /> amendments to Chapter 15 of this Code regarding zoning. <br /> (d) Consider, hold hearings and make recommendations on conditional <br /> use permit applications. <br /> (e) Review all applications for variance to zoning, hold hearings and <br /> make recommendations to the Council. <br /> (f) Review requests'for sign variances. <br /> 3-13 <br />
