Property is next to 2716 St. <br /> Anthony Blvd and would create a large water overflow basin . Also owner <br /> is in a nursing home and the home is soon to go on the market) . <br /> Water overflow basins would be built in the locations where homes are <br /> purchased by the city . We have estimated the cost of removing the homes <br /> and construction of the water overflow basin and landscaping at $40 ,000 <br /> each , but we believe an engineer should be consulted to receive a better <br /> e*ate of these costs . <br /> 4 . Technical assistance for flood proofing homes . The city would contract <br /> with an outside engineering firm to visit each property owner who was <br /> affected by the July 1 flood and reported their damage to the city . The <br /> outside engineer would work with city staff and the city ' s street <br /> maintenance engineer to document the engineering firm' s recommendations and <br /> follow-up to determine. if the property owner made the recommended <br /> improvements to help prevent future water problems . The engineering firm <br /> would also recommend possible minor improvements the city would be <br /> responsible for in various areas . <br /> 5 .Moratorium on building until snort term solutions are carried out and/or <br /> enforced . The city would not permit any property grading or construction <br /> wh world increase any possible risk of flood damage or increase the <br /> Public cost of alleviating flooding . Redevelopment of the city ' s parks <br /> will not begin until it is determined if the parks are involved in the <br /> short term water control solutions to prevent future flooding within the <br />
