59
DORSEY & WHITNEY LLP
Mayor Cavanaugh and Members
of the City Council
April 19,2000
Page 3
The studies will also consider what amendments of the City's Code of Ordinances may
be required by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in relation to the extent
of ground coverage by buildings and other hard surfaces within a specified distance of
the shore of Silver Lake.
If you wish to extend the moratorium, you can simply amend the previous ordinance to extend
the date which appears in it so long as you do not extend it by more than 18 months. You could extend
the-date for 18 months, or you could do several extensions so long as the total extension does not
exceed 18 months. The ordinance as currently adopted provides that it can be terminated earlier by the
City Council after the date has been set.
Ifyouu have any further questions on this, please let me know.
Ve truly yours,
8
William R. Soth
WRS/ms
