Regular Council Meeting <br /> February 12, 1991 <br /> page 6 <br /> 1 Zoning Institute held in Brooklyn Center. He serves on the staff. <br /> 2 Councilmember Marks was very proud to observe there were five members <br /> of the Planning Commission from St. Anthony in attendance. <br /> In a brochure he received today from the Regional Transit Board, Council- <br /> smember Marks observed that the representative from Area #3 was from the <br /> City of Columbia Heights. St. Anthony is in this Area and has no represent- <br /> 7 <br /> P ative from the City. The City Manager stated that Councilmember Makowske <br /> 9 formerly represented the City on this body and that volunteers had been <br /> 10 requested from the City. He recommended that Councilmember Marks contact <br /> 11 Mike Erlichman, Chairman of the Regional Transit Board, regarding his interest <br /> 12 in serving. <br /> 13 The Ramsey County .Light Rail Transit Authority is presently holding public <br /> i4 hearings. A meeting of the Authority is scheduled for next month. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 <br /> 17 5. Councilmember Enrooth' s Report <br /> 18 Councilmember Enrooth also attended the Sabo reception which he felt was <br /> 19 poorly attended. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 On February 7th he attended the Association of Minnesota Municipalities <br /> 22 meeting and found it very interesting. At the meeting a six minute video <br /> 23 was run which focused on some subjects which would be beneficial to residents <br /> 24 of the community. The video emphasized city services and is available for <br /> 5 $6.00. He felt it should be considered for airing on the City's cable system. <br /> 25 Zawislak will order a copy of the video and take it to the headend at the <br /> 27 cable's office in Roseville and try to adapt it for showing on the City's <br /> 98 access channel . <br /> l . <br /> Councilmember Enrooth attended the Village Fest meeting on February 11th. <br /> 30 He feels things are progressing well with regard to this year's celebration. <br /> 31 32 The Apache Shopping Center has indicated a willingness to participate. The <br /> St. Anthony Merchants Association will sponsor the wrestling matches again <br /> 33 <br /> 33 this year. Runs and walks are being considered for Sunday of the Village Fest. <br /> 35 Mayor Ranallo advised that presently there are four residents of St. Anthony <br /> 36 serving in the Middle East conflict. He requested a letter be drafted for <br /> 3 signature of all members of the City Council for sending to them. He has <br /> 38 8 contacted the high school for their photos to be run in a local pacer. <br /> 40 Some of the students in the City have been writing to ,these four people <br /> 41 since they were sent overseas. <br /> 42 42 <br /> 6. Proclamation, Re: Volunteers of America <br /> 44 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve the proclamation designating <br /> 4{ March 3 - 10, 1991 as Volunteers of America Week in St. Anthony. <br /> 46 <br /> 4' Motion carried unanimously <br /> 48 <br /> 49 7.
