Regular Council Meeting 5 <br /> November 13, 1990 <br /> 1 A letter was received from Barr Engineering saying the City would-have to <br /> 2 research Highway 88 to resolve the drainage issue Ranallo was appointed to <br /> 3 work on the Fiscal Disparities Committeealong with mayors from <br /> 4 Minneapolis, St. Paul, Brooklyn Center, Roseville and others. He was elected <br /> 5 Chairman of the Committee. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Last week police reports include 7 or 8 breakins between 3 and 5 a.m. Burt <br /> 8 reported the burglars have the same m.o. and they are very organized in <br /> 9 what they are doing. The City has put a lot of overtime-in trying to find <br /> 10 these people. They steal cash. People need to protect themselves by locking <br /> 11 their doors and windows. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 On October 26 Ranallo met with the St. Anthony Orchestra. About 20-25 <br /> 14 people are preparing to go to Salo, Finland. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 The Mayor's office has been open before Council meetings with little or no <br /> 17 response. During the winter months Mayor Ranallo will be in his office the <br /> 18 first Saturday of every month from 8:30-10 a.m. beginning December 1. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Enrooth reported that the VillageFest meeting had some new members and <br /> 21 interest is revitalized. The next meeting will be December. 10, 7 p.m. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Marks attended the Intergovernnmental Committee Meeting on the Ramsey <br /> 24 County Regional Railroad Authority November 6 and reviewed light rail <br /> 25 corridors that will be picked for travel into downtown. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Makowske read her resignation from the St. Anthony City Council to <br /> 28 become Hennepin County Commissioner January 1, 1991. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Mayor Ranallo accepted her resignation he said, "with mixed emotions" and <br /> 31 expressed the importance of having someone serving as a County <br /> 32 Commissioner who will represent our community well. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Makowske said she appreciated the support she received. Her new office <br /> 35 number is 348-4288. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Makowske said that MTC has requested from the Minneapolis Park Board to <br /> 38 allow Route 25 to travel on Stinson Blvd. November 14 the Ramsey County <br /> 39 League of Local Governments is meeting to discuss access to the community <br /> 40 through cable TV. She recommended that those who are interested in <br /> 41 serving on the Cable Commission to be notified of the meeting. She also <br /> 42 attended the Fall.Concert of the Orchestra and about 15 people attended. <br /> 43 Improvement in publicity is imperative. <br /> 44 <br />
