Subd. 2 . Part-time Employees. Whenever an employee works <br /> for a period less than the regularly established number of <br /> hours a -day, days a week or weeks a month, the amount paid <br /> shall bear a reasonable (but not necessarily proportional) <br /> relationship to the full-time rate for the position as the <br /> time actually worked bears to the time required for full-time <br /> service. Part-time employees are not entitled to sick leave, <br /> vacation leave, holidays with pay or any other benefits,' other <br /> than those benefits required under federal or state law. <br /> Subd. 3 . Overtime. For all non-exempt employees as defined by <br /> the Fair Labor Standards Act, forty (40) hours shall <br /> constitute a normal work week and -all hours worked in excess <br /> of 40 hours shall be overtime and will be compensated for at <br /> one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. To the extent <br /> permitted by law, compensatory time off may be taken as <br /> approved by the Department Head in whole hour amounts of not <br /> less than one hour at a time. All overtime work shall require <br /> the express, prior authorization of the City Manager or <br /> designees. <br /> Subd. 4 . 'Pay Days. Employees will be paid every two weeks on <br /> alternate Wednesdays. When a pay day falls in a week where a <br /> holiday off is given, employees will receive their pay on the <br /> third working day of that week. <br /> Subd. 5. Longevity Pa�y. Deferred Compensation Pay, <br /> Employees covered under the scope of this Section, with the <br /> exception of organized employees and those hired after January <br /> 1, 1991, will -receive deferred compensation pay paid by the <br /> City to a deferred compensation plan of the employee's choice <br /> in the following amounts: <br /> 1% of their base wages after 5 years of full-time service. <br /> 2% of their base wages after 10 years of full-time service. <br /> 3% of their base wages after 15 years of full-time service. <br /> 4% of their base wages after 20 years of full-time service. <br /> 300. 08 Work Hours. Work schedules for personnel will be <br /> established by the appropriate Department Heads with the approval <br /> of the City' Manager. The regular workweek for full-time employees <br /> is five eight-hour working days (in addition to a lunch period) <br /> Monday through Friday, except as otherwise established by the <br /> Department Head in accordance with the needs of the department. <br /> 3-5 <br />
