300.09 Vacation Leave With Pay, <br /> Subd. 1. Amount Allowed. Full time employees shall earn <br /> vacation leave at the following rates: <br /> Less than 5 years consecutive 6.7 hours per month <br /> service (2 weeks per year) <br /> 5 years of service through 10 hours per month <br /> 15 years (3 weeks per year) <br /> 16 years of service 13 . 4 hours per month <br /> (4 weeks per year) <br /> Employees using earned vacation leave shall be considered to <br /> be working f or the purpose of accumulating additional vacation <br /> leave. <br /> Subd. 2 . Accrual. An employee may accrue vacation leave to <br /> a maximum of 30 days. Any vacation leave accrued in excess of <br /> 30 days must be taken within six months of notice by the City <br /> Manager, or it will be forfeited. The City Manager has the <br /> authority to waive this provision due to extenuating <br /> circumstances. <br /> Subd. 3 . Usage. Vacation leave may be used as earned <br /> subject to approval by the Department Head and City Manager of <br /> the time at which -it may be taken. <br /> Subd. -4. Terminal Leave. Any employee leaving the <br /> municipal service in good standing after giving proper notice <br /> of such termination of employment, will be compensated for <br /> vacation leave accrued and unused to the date of separation. <br /> Subd. 5. Waiver of Vacation Leave Prohibited. No employee <br /> is permitted to waive vacation leave for the purpose of <br /> receiving double compensation. <br /> 300. 10 Sick Leave. <br /> Subd. 1. Amount. Every probationary and full-time employee <br /> is entitled to sick leave with pay at the rate of one day for <br /> each calendar month of full-time service or major fraction <br /> thereof. Sick leave may be accumulated to an unlimited amount <br /> and may be granted in units of not less than one hour and in <br /> whole hour increments. <br /> Subd. 2 . Purposes. Sick leave may be granted when the <br /> employee is unable to perform work duties due to illness, <br /> disability, disability due to pregnancy, the necessity for <br /> medical, dental or chiropractic care, or legal quarantine.
