SECTION 305 - PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> 305. 01 Character of Planning Commission. The Planning <br /> .Commission of the City is the planning agency within the meaning of <br /> Minn. Stat. SS 462 . 351-.365. In such capacity, the Planning <br /> Commission will be advisory to the Council. <br /> 305. 02 . MembershiR. The Commission will consist of seven <br /> members, all of whom will be residents of the City appointed by <br /> affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the Council. <br /> Three members were appointed for a three-year term expiring <br /> December 31, 1985, two members were appointed for a two-year term <br /> expiring December 31, 1984, and two members were appointed for a <br /> one-year term expiring December 31, 1983 . <br /> All subsequent appointments or renewals will be for* a three-year <br /> term except where a vacancy occurs in the middle of a term, in <br /> which case the appointment will be for the duration of the <br /> unexpired term. <br /> A member whose term is expiring must be notified by the City <br /> Manager 60 days in advance of expiration of the term, and the <br /> member must indicate in writing his or her desire to be reappointed <br /> to another term. <br /> 305. 03 . Vacancies. Any of the following will cause the office of <br /> a Planning Commission member to become vacated: <br /> (a) Death. <br /> (b) Disability or failure to serve. <br /> (c) Removal of legal residence from the City. <br /> (d) Resignation in writing. <br /> (e) Failure to uphold the oath of office. <br /> (f) Failure to attend 4 or more scheduled meetings of the <br /> Planning Commission in a calendar year, unless waived by <br /> the Council after a written request from , the member. <br /> The City will publish an open invitation to all residents <br /> interested in serving on the Planning commission to inform the City <br /> manager in writing of their interest and desire to be interviewed. <br /> 305. 04 Compensation. Planning commission members will serve <br /> without compensation. <br /> 3-14 <br />
