She stated that her children play recreational hockey, and that she would prefer for <br /> 3 them to play ice-hockey on the rink closest to her house. In short, Ms. McGinnity supported the <br /> 4 idea of hockey boards for the neighborhood rinks. <br /> 5 Mayor Cavanaugh thanked Ms. McGinnity for her interest and suggestions. <br /> 6 VIII. CONSENT AGENDA. <br /> 7 Motion by Horst to approve the Consent Agenda with the following modifications to the City <br /> 8 Council Regular Meeting Minutes of January I 1'�, 2000: <br /> 9 1. Page 3, line 27, delete the first sentence and replace it with the following <br /> 10 sentence: "Horst expressed his understanding that the charitable contributions are decided <br /> I I by a committee made up of the Sports Boosters, Lions Club, and Chamber of <br /> 12 Commerce." <br /> 13 2. Page 8, line 14, change "rule" to "role." <br /> 4 Motion carried unanimog U1 . <br /> 15 IX. PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br /> 16 None. <br /> 17 X. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. <br /> 18 A. Resolution 00-0 17, re: Supporting the Lo�M Avenue corridor Plan Grant Application. <br /> 19 Motion by Thuesen to approve Resolution 00-0 17, a Resolution in Support of the Lowry Avenue <br /> 20 corridor Plan Grant Application, wherein the City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby <br /> 21 declares it support of Hennepin County's grant application relating to the Lowry Avenue <br /> 22 Corridor. <br /> 23 Motion carried unpinimously. <br /> 24 B. Ordinance 2000-001, re: Alcohol Compliance Checks (2nd reading). <br /> 25 Mayor Cavanaugh stated that he had asked City Manager Michael Morrison after the January 11, <br /> 26 2000 Council meeting to provide the Council with a sense of how the Alcohol Ordinance would <br /> 27 be enforced. In this respect, the Mayor directed the Council's attention to a memo dated January <br /> 28 12, 2000 regarding the specific procedures utilized to enforce compliance. <br /> 29 The memo stated that the Police Department does not have a formal compliance check policy; <br /> #0 however, City Ordinances and State Statutes are followed. In the case of tobacco compliance, <br /> 31 high school teens, usually from the SADD group, are requested to participate. Parental or <br /> 32 Guardian permission is received, and the City provides the teens with lunch or a gift certificate <br />
