Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes November 19, 1996 Page 5 I Commissioner Thompson reported there would be a public information hearing regarding 2 the bridge project on December 3, 1996 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Apache Plaza. 3 B. Comprehensive Plan Update Task Force. 8 Chair Bergstrom explained the two at large representatives, Anthony Kaczor and 9 Constance Kozlak had been chosen as they had been present at the joint meeting last 10 month and had expressed interest. He questioned the identity of Jeanette Solie. Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she had asked Public Works Director and he had informed her 12 1 that Ms. Solie was A phenomenal Realtor, did her own work, was knowledgeable and 13 very helpful. Ms.Moore-Sykes reported City Manager has suggested that the Chamber 14 of Commerce President be appointed as the representative for the Retail/Commercial 15 area. He also had advised that George Wagner is a member of the Kiwanis and would be 16 able to fill two roles. 1.7 Commissioner Makowske stated he felt the best means to get information back to the 18 community was through community representatives on the.task force. 19 Commissioner Franzese stated she did not know Jeanette Solie but was aware that her 20 husband Ken Solie owned the Macalaster Apartments,American Monarch property and 21 the property to the east of the American Monarch Building. 22 Chair Bergstrom asked what Healthy Youth/Healthy Community was. 23 Commissioner Makowske stated it is a group which includes the churches and other 24 members of the community, which was founded to focus on more positive opportunities- 25 for youth. 26 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated a representative from this organization would represent various ,27 organizations and interests of the community. 28 Chair Bergstrom asked if this was a viable organization. Commissioner Makowske stated 29 he was not sure but his recommendation would be to return churches as that 30 representative. 31 Commissioner Makowske asked how Kim Johnson had been appointed to the School 32 Representative position. 33 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated he had been suggested by Warren Rolek, Superintendent of 34 Schools.
