He questioned what the City could do today for those in need. He asked residents <br /> 3 to express their ideas to City. Councilmembers or the City Manager. <br /> 4 A resident suggested the City conduct a survey to determine how many residents have been <br /> 5 affected and to what extent. <br /> 6 Ms. Kozarek stated this needed to be calculated to determine if any county, state or federal <br /> 7 aid was available. She suggested that residents contact Kim Moore-Sykes at City Hall with <br /> 8 this information. <br /> 9 Ms. Rose noted there were no phone numbers to call for help with the clean up. There was <br /> 10 supposed to be disinfectant available but it was not clear where to obtain it. She suggested <br /> 11 literature should be available for people in this situation. <br /> 12 City Attorney William Soth excused himself from the meeting at 8:52 p.m. <br /> 13 Mayor Ranallo asked Mr. Palmer to contact City Manager in regard to a study of surface <br /> 14 water in the northern area of the City. <br /> 15 Ms. Kuharski thanked the Council for listening and empathizing with the residents. • <br /> 16 Mayor Ranallo thanked the residents for attending the meeting. <br /> IT VII. REPORTS. <br /> 18 Proclamation National Night Out. <br /> 19 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve a:Proclamation declaring Tuesday, August 5, <br /> 20 1997 as "National Night Out" in the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 21 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 A. Councilmembers. <br /> 24 Wagner reported his attendance at a recent Merchants Association Meeting. The primary <br /> 25 discussion was in regard to the closing of the parking lot of Custom Liquidators. There was <br /> 26 consensus of the merchants that it would not affect their business if the parking lot was <br /> 27 closed. <br /> 28 Morrison confirmed that the Council's opinion was that the Custom Liquidator parking lot was <br /> 29 a private drive so there is no public issue involved. <br /> 30 The Council confirmed this was correct. <br /> 31 Faust reported the Anoka County Parks have a virtually indestructible picnic table and bench. • <br /> 32 They are heavy and hard to move. He suggested these might be appropriate for St. Anthony <br /> 33 parks. <br />
