Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2001
Page 2
based upon the outcome of additional north area soils investigation. If the soil is clean
enough to be reused on site, then hillside grading and parking lot reconfiguration will be
acceptable. If soils are too polluted to reuse, on site soils should be left in place and
hillside grading and parking reconfiguration should not be pursued. Redesign of.the
north-park area will be explored at that time.

Mr. Anderson questioned the deletion of the wading pool, and expressed concern that the decision
would leave children without a wet area to play in. Jindra replied that the deletion of the wading
pool would not happen, and that they need to discuss and clarify this alternate with Mr. Kost.

Chair Jindra asked Mr. Hartman about the eighth alternate and what a Maxicom Cable is. Mr. Hartman
responded that it is a good location for the building.

Commissioner Koehntop inquired about the sixth alternate. Mr.Anderson stated that planting bare-
root trees is the best option for this area, so that you can see how they are growing and surviving. .
Commissioner Hallada noted that the expense of the bare-root trees, and several other different kinds
of trees, has increased this year.

Chair Jindra noted that all of the alternates need to be discussed later when the bids come in.

Commissioner Zurbey indicated that at his recent Sports Boosters meeting, they expressed a strong
desire for the basketball court to be built.

5.
