Mr. Fornell recom- <br /> mended --acceptance of the proposal and negotiating an understanding <br /> with the community organizations who have been overseeing the opera- <br /> tion whereby the City may at least partially recover some of its <br /> costs from the proceeds. <br /> Motion by Councilman Letourneau and seconded by Councilman Marks <br /> to accept the proposal for the provision of recycling services as <br /> proposed by Brooklyn Recycling. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> ., follow the recommendations of the Public Works Director that the <br /> Shade Tree Disease Program be continued with the subsidy funding <br /> allocated .to percentages where the City will not incur costs over <br /> the budget. <br /> . Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Gary Fey, proprietor of the St. Anthony Fun Center, was present to <br /> discuss his application for an amusement devices license. He an- <br /> swered concerns of several residents regarding his operation which <br /> had been expressed to Councilmen Ranallo and Letourneau and indicated <br /> he would always be open to any suggestions for improvement of the <br /> center' s operation. Mr. Fornell reported the Police Department' s <br /> experience with the operation had been generally positive and any <br /> call they responded to had originated with. Mr. Fey in his efforts <br /> to impress his customers that he was serious about enforcing regu- <br /> lations. <br /> Motion. by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> grant all licenses listed in the February 12, 1980 Agenda, except <br /> those for the St. Charles Mardi Gras, a discussion of which was <br /> deferred for a later consideration. <br /> Motion carried unanimously, <br /> The January 23 request from Berton Tooker, %2909, 30tFi Avenue N.E. , <br /> for an MTC bus shelter at the northwest corner of 29th and Silver <br /> Lake Road prompted a reconsideration of the Council's December 4 , <br /> 1979 decision not to request such a shelter for that location. <br /> Councilman Letourneau wondered if the ridership might increase to <br /> the numbers for which the City might not .have to pay any partici- <br /> pation costs and was concerned about the number of such shelters <br /> the City might end up building. Mr. Fornell told him this is the <br /> only site suggested as feasible. by the MTC.axrd;-corisider.irig'_l�he.riihi- <br /> mal participation costs to the City as well .as .probable greater <br /> . dependence on mass transit in the near future, recommended the City <br /> -enter into the agreement with MTC for the shelter. <br />
