Councilman Letourneau and-seconded by Councilman Enrooth to <br /> approve payment of all. verified claims listed .in the .May 11, 1982 <br /> • Council agenda. <br /> Motion carried unanimously.. <br /> Council members were requested by the Mayor to let the staff know if , <br /> and when, they plan to attend the League of. Cities conference in <br /> Rochester and noted Councilman Ranallo will be conducting a . semina_r <br /> on labor relations . <br /> The Mayor then reported- conversations with. the Apache Car. Wash manager <br /> which indicate he and his employees are willing to assume the responsi- <br /> bility for providing traffic safety near the car wash. He has agreed <br /> to work with Columbia Heights and St. Anthony .police to see there are <br /> no problems during the promotion by the National Car Wash on the site <br /> during May. <br /> State Senator Neil Dieterich, who will become the City 's legislative <br /> representative December 1st, had been .invited to meet the Council . <br /> The Senator said .he has great respect for the work of city government <br /> and urged the City officials to. let him know if there is anything he <br /> can help them with at the Legislature. He remained as an observer <br /> for a portion of the meeting which followed. <br /> At 7: 45. P.M. , the Mayor opened the .public hearing to amend the Revenue <br /> Sharing and City budgets and .to authorize the funds to balance the <br /> City ' s 1982 .budget, based on current revenue projections . The Manager <br /> • had submitted the resolutions which would authorize the delay of cab <br /> and chassis and squad car acquisition until 1983 and transfer $9 ,000 <br /> from the Police Special Aid and. $1.4 ,.600 from the Revenue Sharing funds <br /> to the General Funds to make up .for the $39 ,600 cut in aid payments <br /> from the State of Minnesota. He told Councilman Ranallo there is <br /> little possibility the equipment expenditures can be made this year, <br /> since the League of Cities staff has advised cities to prepare for <br /> further cuts this calendar year. .. The Mayor reported the notice of <br /> the hearing had been posted and published as required. There was no <br /> one present to speak for or against the proposal and the hearing was <br /> closed at 7 : 50 P.M. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by. Councilman Enrooth to <br /> adopt the resolution which authorizes the. budget transfer of $9 ,000 <br /> from the Special Police Fund to .the General Fund and deletes some <br /> equipment purchases for 1982 . <br /> RESOLUTION 82-019 <br /> A RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE 1982 BUDGET <br /> Motion carried unanimously. . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> adopt the resolution which authorizes the budget transfer of $14 ,600 <br /> from the Revenue Sharing Funds to the General Fund. <br /> • RESOLUTION 82-020 <br /> A RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE 1982 BUDGET <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br />
