Mr. Childs had included in the agenda packet
the proposed resolution which would reduce the State 's share of
project costs from $253,072 . 88 which was adopted by Resolution 82-027
on June 22 , 1982 to $213 ,365. 61 with the City ' s increased costs to
be paid from MSA funds . The Manager distributed a financial assess-
ment of the impact the raise would have on the PISA total which
demonstrated the City would not be prevented from participating in
the County Road D rebuilding project, as had originally been feared.
Mr. Jahn demonstrated how the DOT had arrived at the new figures and
Mr. Hamer agreed with him that the new cost figures were actually
well within the boundaries of the original project cost estimates
which had been accepted for the project through Resolution 82-015.
Mr. Childs . indicated he believes the DOT's method of informing the
City of the change had been very poor and speculated that if the
State had given the City the same courtesy the City had given the
property owners on Anthony Lane when an error on the City ' s part had
been discovered, the City might not have reacted so negatively .
Mr. Jahn said he had received a call that day from a DOT apologizing
for the recalculation and informing him that the MSA checks had been
mailed to the City.
