Kiwanis Convention <br /> 13 Mayor Sundland gave his own insights about the above convention he had <br /> 14 attended as a St. Anthony Kiwanis delegate whose attendance fees had <br /> 15 been paid by that organization the previous week. He said there had <br /> 16 been 5,700 delegates present and one of the accomplishments of the <br /> 17 meetings had been to open the organization to membership by women. The <br /> 18 Mayor described the tightly regulated voting processes and explained the <br /> •19 problems the representatives of some states had with their own charters <br /> 20 related to the extension of membership. <br /> 21 DEPARTMENTS AND COMMITTEES <br /> 22 The following were noted and ordered filed as informational: <br /> 23 *Report from the Edward J. Hance law firm on matters conducted at the <br /> 24 Hennepin County District Court on June 17 , 1987 , in which they <br /> 25 represented St. Anthony as Prosecutor; <br /> 26 *June Fire Department Report; <br /> 27 *June Liquor Operations Sales Summary. <br /> 28 CITY MANAGER <br /> 29 There were no questions related to the July 7th staff meeting notes. <br /> 30 Personnel Decisions Selected to Assist the City in Completing Its <br /> 31 Comparable Worth Study <br /> 32 Mr. Childs had distributed the proposals for the above study which had <br /> 33 been submitted by Personnel Decisions, Inc. and Arthur Young and gave <br /> 34 his reasons for accepting the former. He said telephone calls to both <br /> •35 firms had reaffirmed that Decisions Personnel was proposing to provide <br /> 36 the service for $1 ,800 while it would cost the City between $4 ,800 and <br /> 37 $5,400 to have the Young Company help the City with its study.
