The Society is having some of the oral histories <br /> 3 they have taken transcribed at a cost of $55.00 per history. <br /> 4 Councilmember Nakowske indicated there is a welcome diversity in the <br /> 5 Society membership, with various aspects of the Village history <br /> 6 represented, including people who. have expertise in working with photos <br /> 7 and others who are working on histories of the types of people who first <br /> 8 came to this area, etc. She said the next thing she hoped would be done <br /> 9 would be to have someone other than herself take over the leadership of <br /> 10 the Committee, for which she just doesn't have time. The Councilmember <br /> 11 concluded her report by passing around a copy of the Greenpeace <br /> 12 magazine, which a member of that group had brought to her door that day. <br /> 13 She said the Councilmembers might be interested in several articles in <br /> 14 the magazine, particularly the one opposing garbage incinerators. A volunteer, Sharon Damsgard, reported the <br /> 23 sixth grade students in the class were participating i I n the City Police <br /> Department Ride Along Program during which they were interviewing the <br /> officers in the squad cars. Ms. Damsgard indicated she thought it was <br /> 26 great that the students were allowed to conduct these interviews and to <br /> 27 utilize not only the school's equipment, but also the cable company's <br /> 28 equipment. She indicated the programs would be shown on the local <br /> 29 public access cable channels sometime in April.
