10 <br /> • <br /> (Resolution 89-018 re: Approval of Plans and Specifications <br /> and Ordering Advertisement for Bids) . <br /> Bob Robertson of Reike Carroll Muller Associates, Inc. was <br /> present to discuss the sidewalk improvement on Kenzie <br /> Terrace. He stated that the cost estimate for 1 , 400 feet of <br /> sidewalk plus a retaining wall by the apartments was close to <br /> $16, 000, and that a portion of the cost was being funded with <br /> block gr=ant funds . Acting City Manager VanderHeyden <br /> confirmed that the City would have enough money available to <br /> complete the project . <br /> Council Action <br /> Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Makowske, to approve <br /> Resolution 89-018, a resolution approving plans and <br /> specifications and ordering advertisement for bids for the <br /> complete construction of approximately 1 , 400 linear feet of <br /> five-foot wide sidewalk and appurtenant work along the north <br /> side of Kenzie Terrace W.E. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • Peter Carlson of Reike Carroll Muller Associates , Inc. was <br /> present to disuss their findings, recommendations, and <br /> preliminary cost estimate for the repair of the following <br /> streets: <br /> 1. 33rd Avenue from Stinson Blvd. to Old Highway No. 8 . <br /> 2 . 37th Avenue from Stinson Blvd. to Silver Lake Road. <br /> 3. Stinson Blvd. from 37th Avenue to Silver Lake. <br /> 4. Chandler Drive from 37th Avenue to the City Limits. <br /> Mr. Carlson informed the Council that Chandler Drive was in <br /> the worst condition of the four areas needing repair. He <br /> indicated that settlement occurred in conjunction with a <br /> storm sewer project in Chandler Drive. Reike Carroll ?fuller <br /> (RCM) recommended that a 1 , 200 foot reach of Chandler Drive <br /> be removed and that soil exploration be done to determine the <br /> soil condition before repaving. Mr . Carlson recommended that <br /> Chandler Drive be repaired first due to the extensive nature <br /> of the damage. <br /> Council Member Makowske asked whether the cost listed for <br /> Stinson Boulevard was the St . Anthony portion only or the <br /> total cost for both St. Anthony and Columbia Heights . Mr. <br /> Carlson stated that he was not aware that it was a shared <br /> street, but that the cost listed was the entire cost. <br /> . Council Member Ranallo suggested that Columbia Heights be <br /> contacted about sharing the cost. <br />
