1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 28 , 1992 <br /> PAGE 13 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 The Mayor requested some vigilance on the part of the <br /> 8 Fire Department staff to anticipate the purchase of large <br /> 9 pieces of equipment .for the Department . He felt these <br /> 10 should be budgeted for before they were in a position of <br /> 11 need and the funds may not be available. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Use of the large fire truck has been decreased. The <br /> 14 policy is never, take the large truck out for only one <br /> 1_5 purpose. The Chief noted that cars are used more than the <br /> 16 truck . <br /> 17 <br /> 18 The City Manager stated that a five year capital <br /> 19 equipment budget is being proposed. Two vehicles in the <br /> 20 Fire Department, are twenty years old. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Enrooth questioned why there appears to be increased <br /> 23 activity on Monday . The Chief responded that the level of <br /> 24 activity is dependent on human activity . <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Enrooth inquired if more medical training is needed for <br /> 7 the firefighters . The Chief responded that is happening <br /> already and has been increasing for some time. <br /> 30 The Chief observed that the neighboring fire departments <br /> 3.1 have called on the St . Anthony Fire Department for <br /> 32 assistance more often than the reverse. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Mayor Ranallo noted that many favorable comments are <br /> 35 received regarding the Fire Department . The Chief felt <br /> 36 the residents have a considerable amount of confidence in <br /> 37 those who give service . <br /> 38 <br /> 39 <br /> 40 8 . PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 41 <br /> 42 There were no public hearings . <br /> 43 _ <br /> 44 <br /> 45 9 . NEW BUSINESS <br /> 46 <br /> 47 A. Quotations for Road Materials and Water Department <br /> 48 Supplies for 1992 <br /> 49 <br /> 50 A memo was received from the Public Works Director with <br /> 51 recommendations for road materials and Water Department <br /> 52 supplies for 1992 . The City Manager advised they are all <br /> low bids . <br />
