City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> December 20, 1995. <br /> • Page 3 <br /> 1 Councilmember Fleming stated she felt this was an excellent idea and encouraged Mayor <br /> 2 Ranallo to bring the message expressed by the residents at the past two City Council <br /> 3 meetings. Taxes have to be cut. <br /> 4 Mayor Ranallo presented a plague of appreciation to Councilmember Elect Jerome Faust <br /> 5 for his five years of service on the Planning Commission. <br /> 6 Councilmember Elect Faust thanked the City Council. He stated he had learned a lot and <br /> 7 felt the Planning Commission had a lot of good ideas and people. <br /> 8 Mayor Ranallo presented Councilmember Dorothy Fleming with a plague expressing <br /> 9 great appreciation by the City Council and members of the community for her dedication <br /> 10 and commitment for the past five years serving as a City Councilmember. <br /> 11 Councilmember Fleming expressed her appreciation to the Councilmembers and the <br /> 12 community. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 B. Council. <br /> 15 Councilmember Wagner expressed an unofficial greeting from the 50th State. He noted it <br /> P6 is tradition there for the Mayor and City Council to decorate the outside of City Hall and <br /> 7 the departments have a competition for the best decorations inside the building. <br /> 18 Councilmember Fleming thanked the Fire Department for their Christmas festivities for <br /> 19 the City. She also asked that the City send a letter of appreciation to Nativity Church for <br /> 20 their beautiful decorations on Silver Lake Road. <br /> 21 Mayor Ranallo reported the Fire Department had also collected Toys for Tots. He noted <br /> 22 there was a tremendous response. Monday night the toys were loaded onto the sled on <br /> 23 top of the firetruck and delivered to Channel 11 to be delivered. <br /> 24 Mayor Ranallo commended the camera person who video taped the 50th anniversary. <br /> 25 This was scheduled to be shown on the cable channel five times but unfortunately was <br /> 26 pre-empted three times. <br /> 27 Councilmember Enrooth asked if electrical outlets could be installed on the exterior of <br /> 28 the north end of the new City Hall/Community Center for future Villagefest activities. <br /> 29 Councilmember Marks reported he was also in attendance at the meeting last night in <br /> 30 regard to Apache Mall. He stated he was very pleased as Opus Corp. had not only <br /> 31 worked with large developments previously but also had a strategic plan and great <br /> understanding of the marketplace. He noted the Development Director lived in New <br /> Brighton and remembered Apache when it was successful. Marks stated he felt this was <br /> 34 an incredibly positive situation. <br />
