City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • February 13, 1996 <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 VII. REPORTS (CONTINUED). <br /> 2 B. Mayor. <br /> 3 Mayor Ranallo reported on Sunday he had the opportunity to address the Healthy Youth, <br /> 4 Healthy Community group at Nativity Lutheran Church. He stated it was an enjoyable <br /> 5 experience. <br /> 6 C. Councilmembers. <br /> 7 Wagner reported he had also been in attendance at the celebration service Sunday at <br /> 8 Nativity Lutheran Church. He commended Pastor Seefeldt for his strong endeavors to <br /> 9 create stronger youth in the community. <br /> 10 Wagner reported his attendance at a recent Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. He <br /> 11 also reported his attendance at the Community Service Advisory Council meeting. He <br /> 12 noted the auditor has come through with an additional credit in their account which will <br /> 13 result in a larger surplus. These funds will be used to purchase new equipment for the <br /> 14 new building. <br /> 15 Faust reported his attendance at a League of Minnesota Cities meeting. He noted two <br /> 16 new Lauderdale Councilmembers were also in attendance and complimented the St. <br /> Anthony Police Department. <br /> 18 Faust commented on the care and concern given to residents by each individual City <br /> 19 employee during the recent water main problems on Silver Lane and Silver Lake Terrace. <br /> 20 Enrooth reported Villagefest will change this year. Some proposed changes are <br /> 21 elimination of kittenball, expansion of the parade,more youth activities, a possible soccer <br /> 22 tournament and reduction of space. <br /> 23 Marks reported his attendance at a recent Sister City Committee meeting last Saturday. <br /> 24 He noted Sauli Niinisto has recently been appointed as the Finance Minister of Finland. <br /> 25 The teacher exchange program with Finland will begin this spring. Marks noted the <br /> 26 teachers union has stated they will fund one-third of the cost to send a teacher to Salo, <br /> 27 Finland. <br /> 28 D. City Manager. <br /> 29 Mornson reported the EAW results will be discussed at the February 27, 1996 City <br /> 30 Council meeting. Three letters have been received by the City and all stated the ponds <br /> 31 were an improvement. <br /> 32 Morrison reported the final plat and TIF for Apache Plaza will be addressed at the March <br /> 12, 1996 City Council meeting. <br />
