Resolution 99-050, re: Approve flood applicants for participation in 1999 Flood Relief <br /> 4 Grant Program. <br /> 5 Ranallo welcomed Todd Hubmer, WSB, Inc., and invited him to address the Council. Mr. <br /> 6 Hubmer stated the City received 15 applications for the Flood Proofing Grant Program from <br /> 7 residents who had received flood damage in 1997. He added that 5 of the 15 applicants met the <br /> 8 grant requirements and are considered eligible for a total project cost-of approximately $21,000. <br /> 9 Mr. Hubmer stated that damage incurred by 4 applicants is not covered under the grant program, <br /> 10 while 4 other applicants are not eligible as they reside in areas of the City where public <br /> 11 improvements are being constructed which will alleviate their problems. He added that 1 <br /> 12 resident withdrew their application as they did not feel they were eligible and may have already <br /> 13 corrected their problem. <br /> 14 Mr. Hubmer stated that 1 applicant already received the maximum grant amount of$10,000 last <br /> 15 year, but is requesting that the Council consider granting them additional funds this year. He <br /> 40 recommended the Council grant funding for the 5 eligible residents. <br /> 17 Motion by Marks, second by Faust to approve Resolution 99-050, approving applicants for <br /> 18 participation in and the 1999 budget for the 1999 Flood Relief Grant Program, for properties <br /> 19 located at: <br /> 20 1. 2929 Crestview Drive <br /> 21 2. 3701 Chandler Drive <br /> 22 3. Townhomes of St. Anthony <br /> 23 4. 3012 Silver Lake Road <br /> 24 5. 2521 West Armour Terrace <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 B. Councilmembers. <br /> 27 Thuesen expressed his thanks to the Police Department for their efforts with regard to a recent <br /> 28 bicycle theft which was acknowledged in a letter to the City. He added the officers involved <br /> 29 were accommodating with regard to what might be considered a minor crime. He commended <br /> 30 them for a job well done. <br /> 31 Cavanaugh reported on his attendance at a recent band event at the high school football field <br /> 32 which benefited local food shelves and raised over$6,000.00. He added that resident Fred <br /> Shrunk, who is working towards his Eagle Badge, organized the event involving 12 local <br />
