He encouraged the Commission to take the initiative. <br /> 3 Marks would speculate that by February or March it would be beneficial to have a joint meeting <br /> 4 for those individuals who are going to be part of the Commission. <br /> 5 Marks also stated that there are openings for seats on the Parks Commission. He clarified that <br /> 6 one Commissioner has moved outside the City limits, and will serve until the end of this year, or <br /> 7 until a replacement is found. Another Commissioner has decided not to renew his term after the <br /> 8 end of the year. Marks encouraged interested residents to consider applying for a seat on the <br /> 9 Parks Commission. He also pointed out that the newly elected City Council would need to ap- <br /> 10 point a new Council Liaison to the Parks Commission. <br /> 11 E. Cil, Manager. <br /> 12 Mornson reported on property updates that had been authorized by the Council to be purchased: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 1. 2700 and 2704 Pahl Avenue. The City is now the owner of those two properties. Public <br /> 15 Works Director Jay Hartman will be monitoring those properties for security purposes, as <br /> well as the property at 2809 30th Avenue. <br /> 17 2. 2713 Pahl Avenue is tentatively scheduled to close on November 29. <br /> 18 3. 2548 Kenzie Terrace is tentatively scheduled to close by December 21, 1999. <br /> 19 Mornson continued by stating that in terms of the three properties on Pahl Avenue, Todd <br /> 20 Hubmer, Jay Hartman, and Mornson have been made aware of interest from builders to buy the <br /> 21 homes and relocate them. Mr. Hubmer, Mr. Hartman, and Mornson are in the process of <br /> 22 obtaining bids and intend on providing a plan to the Council in early January. Mornson stated <br /> 23 that it is the intention to either get the homes relocated or demolished by spring so the original <br /> 24 project can proceed. <br /> 25 4. The property at 2809 301 Avenue will remain, at Council's discretion, until the Harding <br /> 26 project proceeds. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 5. The property at 2548 Kenzie Terrace would most likely be demolished. <br /> 29 On another issue, the Police Chief and Mornson held a quarterly meeting on November 8, 1999 <br /> 30 with the Falcon Heights Lauderdale Administrators. The issue at hand is the new police contract <br /> 31 cost proposals, and the renewal must be agreed to by May 15, 2000 by Falcon Heights, St. <br /> Anthony, and Lauderdale. City Staff will present a recommendation at the February or March. <br /> 46 worksession to present to those cities. <br />
