City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
January 11, 2000
Page 9
1 that many of the projects would be impacted. Morrison stated that the 1999 Council had previ-
2 ously arranged the conditions for 100-year flood protection, and to keep in mind that significant
3 complications could result if the protection was altered.
4 Cavanaugh agreed and stated that the will of the previous Council had been total support for the
5 100-year objective and that such objective was important to the residents. Not only would it take
6 a significant process to alter the 100-year objective, but that the residents would have to acqui-
7 esce to a lesser protection. Additionally, the 1999 Council had previously passed resolutions in
8 - support of I00-year flood protection.
9 Richard Miller, 2717 30th Avenue, offered a suggestion that the community meeting be reserved
10 for the homeowners that would be impacted, and not the surrounding homeowners. He offered
11 other suggestions and, in that respect, Mr. Hubmer suggested that Mr. Miller put together the
12 information into a memo and fax it to WSB for further action. Mr. Miller agreed.
13 City Manager's Report.
14 City Manager Michael Morrison directed the Council's attention to his memo dated January 10,
15 2000 to the Mayor and Councilmembers which depicted a list of upcoming activities requiring
Council involvement.
