-3- <br /> B. <br /> 3-B. Prohibited Signs <br /> • 1. Signs that, by reason of position, shape or color, would interfere with <br /> the proper function of a traffic sign or signal, or otherwise constitute a <br /> traffic hazard. <br /> 2. Signs within the public right-of-way or easement except for traffic control <br /> signs. <br /> 3. Signs that resemb a any official marker erected by a governmental agency or <br /> that display such words as "Stop" or "Danger". <br /> 4. There shall be no use of revolving beacons, zip flashers, flashing signs <br /> or similar device that would distract automobile traffic as to constitute <br /> a safety hazard. <br /> 5. Pennants and stringers except for grand openings and then not to exceed two <br /> continuous weeks. <br /> 6. Signs that are tacked, posted, painted or otherwise affixed to the wells of <br /> buildings or on trees, fences, poles or other structures not considered <br /> to he sign structures. <br /> 7. Billboard signs. <br /> C. Permitted Siqns Reguirinq 'No Permit <br /> l: Free-standing political signs for a period of not more than sixty (60) days <br /> before and ten (10) days after an election provided such signs are less than <br /> fifteen (15) square feet in area. <br /> 2. Signs located on, above or beside entrances or exits to buildings, or <br /> driveways that direct pedestrians such as "employees entrance", "exit only", <br /> and 'office" provided that such signs are less than five (5) square feet in area. <br /> 3. Signs denoting the architect, engineer or contractor when placed upon <br /> work under construction and not exceeding twenty five (25) square feet in <br /> area, <br /> 4. Memorial signs or tablets, names of buildings and date of erection when cut <br /> into any masonry surface or when constructed of bronze or other non- <br /> combustible material and be attached to the building, providing such signs are <br /> less than 4 square feet. <br /> 5. One name plate sign for each dwelling which shall not exceed one and one <br /> half square feet ( 1-1/2) in area per surface and no sign shall be so constructed <br /> as to have more than two surfaces. Such sign may indicate the name of occupant, <br /> address of the occupant and the type of occupation. <br /> 6. Traffic control sic:ts, non-commercial municipal signs, legal notices, and <br /> temporary non-advertising danger or emergency signs. <br /> 7. Bannars in co;ivtiercially zoned areas not to exceed fcur ;4) weeks duration. <br /> 8. Temporary advertising signs painted on a display window or attached/Ehereto <br /> in commercial or industrial zoned areas. <br /> 9. Flags, or insignia of any government or governmental agency, or of any <br /> civic, charitable, religious, patriotic, fraternal or similar organization. <br /> 10. Real Estaie ,signs ;as . fol iow r <br /> a. Temporary signs for the purpose of selling or leasing individual <br /> lots or residential buildings provided that such signs are less than <br /> five (5) square feet. Such sign or signs shall be no closer than ten (10) <br /> fees_ to side lot line,. <br /> b. One temporary sign for the purpose of leasing non-residential or <br /> multiple family development space less than sixteen (16) square feet in <br /> area, providing that such sign shall be not closer than ten (10) feet <br /> to any lot line. <br />
