-2- <br /> (1) The granting of the. variance will not be detrimental to the <br /> public welfare or injurious to other property -in the neighborhood <br /> or village. <br /> C2) A particular hardship to the applicant would result if the strict <br /> letter of the regulations are adhered to because there is a need <br /> for identification of and a distinction to be made between the <br /> two -buildings . <br /> (:3) The conditions upon which the application for a variance is based <br /> are unique to the parcel of land for which the variance is sought <br /> and are not applicable., generally, to other property within the <br /> same land use classification. <br /> The Commission further finds that: <br /> (4) The proposed signage would be compatible - to the requirements for <br /> .monument type signage recommended in the proposed Sign Ordinance. <br /> (.5), The proposed si'gnage .w.ould be compatible with existing signage <br /> in the office park. <br /> (6) No lighting is proposed for the sign. <br /> . (.7) No opposition to the request was demonstrated during the Com- <br /> mission consideration. <br /> • Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by. Mrs . Makowske . and seconded by Mr. Zawislak to recommend the <br /> Council grant a variance fora free standing sign for- the sign which <br /> would identify the Impressions , Inc. Annex, The Math Group, Inc. at <br /> 2912 Anthony Lane N.E. , as proposed in Exhibits A and B , citing the <br /> same findings for the parent firm at 2908 Anthony Lane N.E. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Bjorklund indicated he would be very interested in attending the <br /> afternoon session of the Land Use Planning- Workshop to be held at <br /> the Earle Brown Center, November 30th. Pyr. Peterson . told Mr. Berg <br /> he would let him know the next day whether he would be attending any <br /> of the seminars . <br /> Mrs . Makowske urged all the Commission members to attend the public <br /> information meeting sponsored by the Metropolitan Waste Commission <br /> November 22nd at the North East Junior High School where public input <br /> is being sought related to the possible siting of a hazardous waste <br /> transfer/processing plant in Roseville. She reported the Council <br /> had passed a resolution of opposition to siting such a facility so. <br /> close to St. Anthony. She reported Senator Neil Dieterich was pre- <br /> sent for the Council discussion and indicated 'he would carry the <br /> Council ' s concerns to the Minnesota Waste Management Board public <br /> meeting in Roseville ,the. same evening. Mrs . Makowske said she had a <br /> • personal interest in the possible siting of the plant in the tank <br /> farms which are just across the highway from her own home. Mr. <br /> Bjorklund asked that staff keep the Commission members informed <br /> regarding this matter. <br />
