Status of Comprehensive Plan Update. 2 Bill Weber, BRW, Inc. stated he expects to receive a response from the Metropolitan Council the 3 first part of July and the City Council can then approve the final version of the Comprehensive 4 Plan Update. 5 B. Interviews of Planning Consultants - Continued. 6 Ms. Moore-Sykes reported RFPs had been submitted to seven companies and two responses were 7 received within the deadline. She also noted that City Manager has been contacted by Wendell 8 Smith and a meeting is scheduled with him on Wednesday morning. City Manager has informed 9 Mr. Smith that he has missed the deadline and Mr. Smith has stated that he did not realize this. 10 Chair Bergstrom stated there is a large disparity between the two proposals which were received. 11 He noted that DSU had applied for the Comprehensive Plan Update and suggested that.an RFP 12 be submitted to them. He asked if the Commissioners had any other companies in mind. 13 Commissioner Makowske stated he would not be comfortable that this would be money well 14 spent without looking at other options. 15 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she would look at the list of companies who received the RFP for the Comprehensive Plan Update. 17 VIII. COMMENTS. 18 Commissioner Gondorchin again suggested that the City place an advertisement in the Bulletin 19 requesting the resident's plan for the south end of the City. He noted there could be hidden talent 20 in the Village and this would also provide citizen input. 21 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she would investigate this idea. 22 Commissioner Gondorchin apologized for missing the Ice Cream Social - Parks Meeting event. 23 Commissioner Kaczor reported his attendance at a VillageFest meeting on June 1, 1998. He 24 noted the committee is looking for volunteers for the sponge throwing event and suggested that 25 participation in the event may be a way to provide exposure to the Planning Commission. 26 Commissioner Kaczor reported he has been in contact with the Public Works Director and the 27 trees which are being removed for installation of the tennis courts will be replaced and the courts 28 will be open for the VillageFest tournament. 29 Commissioner Kaczor reported his attendance at the Ice Cream Social event and stated there was 30 a huge number of residents in attendance. He supported Gondorchin's idea of citizen input and 6 suggested that a box for submittal of ideas could be included at VillageFest. 32 Commissioner Kaczor noted the noise from airplane traffic last Sunday and stated this may
