Status of Comprehensive Plan Update. <br /> 2 Bill Weber, BRW, Inc. stated he expects to receive a response from the Metropolitan Council the <br /> 3 first part of July and the City Council can then approve the final version of the Comprehensive <br /> 4 Plan Update. <br /> 5 B. Interviews of Planning Consultants - Continued. <br /> 6 Ms. Moore-Sykes reported RFPs had been submitted to seven companies and two responses were <br /> 7 received within the deadline. She also noted that City Manager has been contacted by Wendell <br /> 8 Smith and a meeting is scheduled with him on Wednesday morning. City Manager has informed <br /> 9 Mr. Smith that he has missed the deadline and Mr. Smith has stated that he did not realize this. <br /> 10 Chair Bergstrom stated there is a large disparity between the two proposals which were received. <br /> 11 He noted that DSU had applied for the Comprehensive Plan Update and suggested that.an RFP <br /> 12 be submitted to them. He asked if the Commissioners had any other companies in mind. <br /> 13 Commissioner Makowske stated he would not be comfortable that this would be money well <br /> 14 spent without looking at other options. <br /> 15 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she would look at the list of companies who received the RFP for the <br /> Comprehensive Plan Update. <br /> 17 VIII. COMMENTS. <br /> 18 Commissioner Gondorchin again suggested that the City place an advertisement in the Bulletin <br /> 19 requesting the resident's plan for the south end of the City. He noted there could be hidden talent <br /> 20 in the Village and this would also provide citizen input. <br /> 21 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated she would investigate this idea. <br /> 22 Commissioner Gondorchin apologized for missing the Ice Cream Social - Parks Meeting event. <br /> 23 Commissioner Kaczor reported his attendance at a VillageFest meeting on June 1, 1998. He <br /> 24 noted the committee is looking for volunteers for the sponge throwing event and suggested that <br /> 25 participation in the event may be a way to provide exposure to the Planning Commission. <br /> 26 Commissioner Kaczor reported he has been in contact with the Public Works Director and the <br /> 27 trees which are being removed for installation of the tennis courts will be replaced and the courts <br /> 28 will be open for the VillageFest tournament. <br /> 29 Commissioner Kaczor reported his attendance at the Ice Cream Social event and stated there was <br /> 30 a huge number of residents in attendance. He supported Gondorchin's idea of citizen input and <br /> 6 suggested that a box for submittal of ideas could be included at VillageFest. <br /> 32 Commissioner Kaczor noted the noise from airplane traffic last Sunday and stated this may <br />
