Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> January 21, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 1 Commissioner Makowske accepted the nomination for Vice Chair of the 1997 Planning <br /> 2 Commission. <br /> 3 Vote on the motion: Bergstrom, Franzese, Gondorchin, Horst, and Thompson voted aye. Makowske <br /> 4 abstained. <br /> 5 Motion carried. <br /> 6 Chair Bergstrom thanked Commissioner Thompson for serving as Vice Chair of the 1996 <br /> 7 Planning Commission. <br /> 8 IV. APPROVAL OF JANUARY 21, 1997 PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA. <br /> 9 Motion by Gondorchin, seconded by Franzese, to approve the Planning Commission Agenda <br /> 10 for January 21, 1997 as presented.. <br /> 11 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12 V. APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 17, 1996 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> 13 MINUTES. <br /> 14 Motion by Bergstrom, seconded by Makowske, to approve the December 17, 1996 Planning <br /> 15 Commission Meeting minutes with the following changes: <br /> 16 Page 2, Lines 28 and 29: Delete sentence beginning with "she" and replace with "She <br /> 17 indicated she would vote to ban business ground signs for residences in R-1, R-lA, and R-2 <br /> 18 districts as she did not feel it benefitted those neighborhoods." <br /> 19 Makowske noted he had not yet prepared the Commission consensus as noted on Page 3, Line <br /> 20 22 of the December 17, 1996 minutes. He apologized and noted he would prepare the draft <br /> 21 prior to the January 28, 1997 City Council Meeting. <br /> 22 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 23 VI. DESIGNATE PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE FOR JANUARY 28, <br /> 24 1997 COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> 25 Commissioner Makowkse was appointed as the Planning Commission representative for the <br /> 26 Tuesday, January 28, 1997, City Council Meeting. <br /> 27 VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br /> 28 1. Amendment to Chapter 16, Section 1635.05 Regrading Minimum Setbacks for <br /> 29 Shopping Centers. <br /> 30 Chair Bergstrom opened the public hearing at 7:08 P.M. <br /> 31 Ms. Moore-Sykes advised the amendment had been revised subject to the City Attorney <br /> 32 incorporating some of the items which the Commission had expressed concern and questions <br /> 33 of at the November 19, 1996 Planning Commission Meeting. <br />
