COMMUNICATION WITH CITY COUNCIL <br /> 8 6.1 Designate a Planning Commission member to the February 24 2004 City Council <br /> 9 Meeting. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Chair Stromgren noted that representation at the City Council meeting on February 24, 2004 <br /> 12 would not be required because there are no public hearings. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 VII. PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 None. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 VIII. CONCEPT REVIEWS. <br /> 19 8.1 Frank Peterson, set back variance request for propegy located at 2601-315`Avenue <br /> 20 Northeast. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Frank Peterson stated that he and his wife are requesting an 11-foot set back variance off the side <br /> 23 of their home, facing 31 st Avenue Northeast. He explained that they are requesting the setback <br /> 24 variance because they would like to be able to build a sunroom off the side of their home. He <br /> 25 indicated that the Petersons are requesting this due to health issues noting that Mrs. Peterson <br /> 26 suffers from asthma and is restricted from being outdoors for any period of time as it restricts her <br /> 27 ability to breathe. He provided the Commission with an overview of the setback request and the <br /> 28 layout of the home as it sits on the lot. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Mr. Peterson referenced the packet information provided to the Commission stating that he and <br /> 31 his wife are asking for an 11-foot variance. He reviewed the packet with the Commission stating <br /> 32 that they scripted the house as facing Wilson so the backyard is diagonal to 315`Avenue. He <br /> 33 stated that he and his wife would like to build a small sun porch onto the front of their house. He <br /> 34 reviewed the layout of the house as it sits on the lot with the Commission noting that after they <br /> 35 reviewed the location of the house on the lot they were told they would need an 11-foot variance. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Chair Stromgren asked who had originally told them this. Mr. Peterson clarified that the City <br /> 38 Inspector told him. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Mr. Peterson explained that he and his wife are hoping to build a small 10-foot by 19-foot sun <br /> 41 porch onto the front of their house. He stated that he provided the City with diagrams that <br /> 42 included lot dimensions in addition to the dimensions for the sun porch. He reviewed the <br /> 43 location of the sun porch with the Commission noting that there are a number of homes along <br /> 44 315`that also have sun porches. He stated that it is his understanding that they would have also <br /> 45 been required to meet the 30-foot setback requirements. Chair Stromgren clarified that the <br />
