/ Page 2 <br /> ,/ Mr. Reiman appeared regarding the proposed Burger Chef building proposal. <br /> He explained the National Advertising Plan and image of the Company's adver- <br /> tising program. He described the sign as proposed with a maximum height of <br /> 181. In the discussion he agreed to either brick or porcelain the back of <br /> the building. He agreed to the erection of a 36" cyclone fence on 3 sides to <br /> control blowing debris. The matter of a deceleration zone was discussed. <br /> Mr. Reiman felt it a hardship to install at his expense on a County roadway. <br /> After considerable discussion relative to signing and traffic controls; <br /> Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that the Burger <br /> Clef building be approved as submitted providing brick or porcelain be used <br /> on the rear side and that affirmation be received from Ramsey County regarding <br /> the installation of a deceleration lane, and that a variance for the proposed <br /> pylon sign be denied. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Crouse, Springer, Dougherty. <br /> Nay: Emond, O'Connor. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> It was suggested that+the Burger Chef sign proposal be resubmitted to the <br /> Planning Board. <br /> The Macey Sign Company presented a request for a pylon sign to replace the <br /> present Min's Drive-In pylon sign. Said sign to read 'Hobo Kitchen". The <br /> matter of pylon signs, variances granted, and the Sign Ordinance was discussed <br /> at length. The Owner pointed out that he felt that not being able to replace <br /> the existing sign would work a hardship on the operation of his business. <br /> Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Emond that the request for <br /> a pylon sign for the 'Bobo Kitchen" restaurant be approved as a hardship. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Emond. <br /> Nay: Crouse, Springer, Dougherty. <br /> Motion not carried. <br /> The Data Systems building plan was set back to the August 27th meeting. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to contact the Hennepin County Engineer re- <br /> garding t:;e County Road C widening. <br /> The proposed Apache Plat was reviewed for final approval. The Village ;attorney <br /> was directed to check the register of deeds to determine ownership of platted <br /> streets shown on the final plat. <br /> Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Crouse that final approval <br /> be given to the Apache Plat with verification of dedication of roadways shown <br /> • on the final plat. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> I <br />
