a <br /> Motion by Mayor O'Connor and seconded by Councilman Springer that a request by <br /> John Wakir•iak to build two homes below the minimum square footage as set forth in <br /> • Ordinance 66 be denied. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Springer that the request <br /> of Towle Mortgage Company for the vacation of that part of Coolidge Street lying <br /> within the St. Anthony Shopping Center be tabled. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilman Crouse introduced Resolution No. 68-058 and moved its adoption. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 68-058 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY <br /> PLANS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HIGHWAY #8 <br /> SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD C <br /> The Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor O'Connor. <br /> Voting on the Resolution: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Crouse, Emond. <br /> Nay: None. <br /> • Resolution declared adopted. <br /> After discussion, Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Emond that <br /> the bid of National Cash Register Company in the amount of $12,248.00 less 1%, 20 <br /> days be accepted, for the supplying of one accounting machine per specifications, <br /> based on the recommendation of the Village Treasurer, Clerk and Manager, and on <br /> the maintenance problems with the present Burroughs equipment. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Springer, Emond, Crouse. <br /> Nay: Dougherty. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. John McDonald, representing local #57 appeared to discuss 1969 police salaries. <br /> After considerable discussion relative to comparative area salaries, Councilman <br /> Emond moved and seconded by Councilman Crouse that the following salary offer be <br /> made to local #57: <br /> $730.00 per month, one through fourth year. <br /> $745.00 per month, five through ninth year. <br /> $765.00 per month, tenth year and thereafter. <br /> • Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Crouse, Emond. <br /> -2- <br />
