-2- <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to approve the <br /> parking and landscaping plans as presented by Mr. Donatele with the stipulat- <br /> ion security lighting be provided at night. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Action on Mrs. Dale Michaelhoff's proposal for building a new home were de- <br /> ferred for the arrival of Mr. Ralph Amundson. <br /> Mrs. Marlys Berg, Chairman of the Human Relations Committee gave the Council <br /> results of the survey she was making regarding community services which were <br /> available for senior citizens in St. Anthony. Among the services she cited <br /> were those from the Golden Heirs, Kiwanis Club, Mrs. Jaycees, Nativity Luth- <br /> eran Church, F ith MetlbddsttChurch and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. <br /> Mrs. Berg told the Council that Sister Inez, coordinator of services for the <br /> elderly at St. Charles was to appear before her committee to present the <br /> program that the church had set up to aid the elderly. There was also a <br /> discussion of funds and services which might be available to the oldsters <br /> through the Metropolitan Transit Company, The Governors Committee for the <br /> Aged and the Dinner Bell Project. Councilman Haik reported on conversations <br /> she had with a northeast minister who was involved in this type of services. <br /> Councilman Sauer reported on Mr. George Marks' decision to resign from the <br /> Human Relations Committee in order that he might continue serving on the <br /> Planning Board and nominated Mrs. Joan Patterson, 3125 Roosevelt St. N.E. <br /> to serve d�n his place. <br /> • Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to accept the <br /> resignation of Mr. George Marks from the Human Relations Committee and to <br /> direct the City Manager to present Mr. Marks with a certificate of apprec- <br /> iation of his service. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Berg and Mr. Dulgar discussed the difficulty posed by the requirement <br /> contained in the resolution governing membership in the Human Relation <br /> Committee which stipulates that only a voting resident may serve on the <br /> committee. This would make the studen members ineligible to serve on the <br /> committee. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the <br /> City Manager to delete the word 'voting" from the membership requirement of <br /> Resolution 1968-040 and present the revised resolution to the Council for their <br /> action. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Dale Michaelhoff, 906 West City Rd. D, Apt 233 presented Mr. Ralph <br /> Amundsen, 3424 Highcrest Drive, owner of a lot at 360+ Downers Drive for <br /> which Mrs. Michaelhoff presented her plans for a 73 ft. wide house. Because <br /> the house would not allow the amount of side yardage required by the city <br /> zoning ordinance the Mayor advised Mrs. Michaelhoff there would have to be a <br /> • public hearing on a side yard variance for the house. Mrs. Michaelhoff in- <br /> dicated she was prepared to cut down on the size of the garage and the <br /> following motion was made: <br /> r' <br />
