-4- <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to direct the <br /> • Manager to meet with Jim Brown, Salvation Camp Director, and work out plans and <br /> financial arrangements on the development of a wood chip trail through the camp <br /> site which might afford better use of the camp by the community. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Committee then recommended coordination with New Brighton and Columbia <br /> Heights on a bikeway system for the City and that the Council take action on <br /> the blacktop path going from County Road E to 37th Avenue N.E for pedestrian <br /> travel to Apache Plaza Shopping Center. <br /> The Committee representatives were told that the City had earmarked funds for <br /> the walkways but that they would not be installed until Silver Lake Road had <br /> been widened in that area. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to table action on <br /> the pathways until March 1, 1975. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Committee also recommended concentration on fixture tennis courts at Silver <br /> Oak Elementary School with financing coming from New Brighton, St. Anthony <br /> School District #282 and the City of St. Anthony. They said they were meeting <br /> with officials from New Brighton and the school district and would make a report <br /> at the joint Council/School Board meeting which has been tentatively set for <br /> • November 18, 1974. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the <br /> Community Services Advisory Committee to continue conversations to ascertain <br /> New Brighton's interest in the joint financing of the tennis courts in anticip- <br /> ation of a report to be made to the Council and School Board November 18th. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The investment report was directed filed after clarification of a few items by <br /> Mr. Dulgar. <br /> Motion by.:Councilma.n Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to approve payment of <br /> $659.40 to North Suburban Day Activity Center for services rendered to residents <br /> of St. Anthony. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Council then discussed whether St. Anthony received its money's worth from <br /> the services provided by the Suburban Health Nursing Service and heard of <br /> Councilman Stauffer's conversation with Hilda Boyle of the nursing service. <br /> There was also speculation that if this service were dropped in the suburbs and <br /> had to be provided by Hennepin County Welfare Services, it might cost the City <br /> more. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to adopt Resolution <br /> • 74-031, and to approve payment of $21685.51+ to Suburban Public Health Nursing <br /> Service with the payment for 1975 to be made from the Council's Contingency <br /> Fund for 1974. <br />
