• Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to approve the <br /> mintues of the October 21 , 1975 Special Council meeting. <br /> :lotion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. !!m. Eowerman appeared to present the recommendations of the Planning Board <br /> as contained in the minutes of their October 21st meeting. <br /> "lotion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to grant a sideyard <br /> variance of approximately 4 feet to Mr. & tlrs. !!m. Tedlund to allow them to <br /> construct a balony on their home at 3114 Rankin Raod. <br /> Notion carried unanimously. <br /> 'ZMr. Ray Sopcinski was present regarding his request for a side yard variance to <br /> build a garage on his property at 2524 St. Anthony Road. He indicated he wanted <br /> to construct the garage on the west side along Edward Street rather than directly <br /> behind his home. <br /> A lengthy discussion followed in which Mr. Sopcinski reiterated his arguments <br /> for building beyond his side yard which is presently substandard. These included <br /> his problems with storm water, reluctance to remove trees and shrubs now on <br /> his property and to spoil the aesthetics of the appearance of the back yards <br /> in his neighborhood. <br /> • Councilman Haik arrived at 7:50 P.N. <br /> The Mayor and Councilman Stauffer expressed their opposition to allowing a <br /> variance which would make Mr. Sopcinski 's side yard only half the amount which <br /> is required by city ordinance. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to grant a 7 foot <br /> side yard variance to Mr. Ray Sopcinski to allow him to construct the garage <br /> he proposed on Lot 1 , and that part of Lot 2 lying east of the west 30 feet <br /> of Block 5, Clark & King Hennepin Gardens. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Sauer, Sundland, Haik <br /> May: Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> \ Motion carried. <br /> Hi".-Dowerman then told the Council that the Board felt that, since the notific- <br /> ation to the residents regarding the reconvening of a public hearing on the <br /> Ernst proposal for a Country Kitchen only specified a discussion of the revised <br /> plan for the proposal , they could only recommend that the public hearing be <br /> reconvened November 18th. <br /> Nr. Fornell told of his conversations with the City Attorney which indicated the <br /> notice had met the intent, if not the letter of the law and suggested the <br /> terminology for the following motion. <br /> !lotion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Ilaik to direct the Planning <br /> Board to reschedule for their November 18th meeting a Public Hearing on the <br /> revised site plan and application for rezoning from Light Industrial to 2� <br />
