• Mayor Miedtke disagreed, he felt it would be a disservice to the rest of the City to delay other needed street construction because of an over- generosity to 29th. He cited a similar situation on another MSA street, 33rd Avenue N.E. , where the residents paid large assessments and re- iterated his concern with setting a precedent for future street renovation projects. While the meeting was recessed from 8: 25 P.M. to 8 : 30 P.M. , Mr. Fornell calculated the net assessment which would reflect the curb credit. Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sundland to adopt Resolution 77-040 which establishes the gross amount to be assessed to benefited properties on 29th Avenue N.E. , for Street Improvement 1976-1 as $120, 960. 48. Before voting on the motion, the following amendment was made: Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Miedtke to deduct from the gross figure above the amount of $13 , 308 for curb and gutter re- placement cost to be spread equally over 69 2/3 parcels on 29th and will result in an amended net assessment of $107, 652 . 48 . RESOLUTION 77-040 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE AMOUNT THE CITY WILL PAY ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-1 AND THE AMOUNT TO BE • ASSESSED ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-1 The amended resolution passed unanimously. :lr . Fornell ' s August 22nd update of figures set out in his August 19th memorandum for establishing an assessment for Street Improvement Project 1976-2 which tied a major Columbia Heights street improvement project into Stinson Boulevard at Silver Lane was accepted in the following motion: Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sauer to adopt Resolution 77-041 establishing the amount to be assessed to the benefited property at 2401 Silver Lane by Street Improvement Project 1976-2 as $996 . 61 . RESOLUTION 77-041 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE AMOUNT TO BE ASSESSED ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-2 AND THE AMOUNT THE CITY WILL PAY Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Soth had conferred during the recess with Mr. and Mrs . Ervin Beutz and C .W. Bartlett regarding the plat approval of the property on 39th Avenue N. E. , which the Beutzes had purchased for a car wash and he re- ported there is some question of whether the original owner_ of the pro- perty listed on the plat should be Apache Realty Fund or the Apache Corporation, as explained in his August 23rd memorandum.
