• Mayor Miedtke disagreed, he felt it would be a disservice to the rest of <br /> the City to delay other needed street construction because of an over- <br /> generosity to 29th. He cited a similar situation on another MSA street, <br /> 33rd Avenue N.E. , where the residents paid large assessments and re- <br /> iterated his concern with setting a precedent for future street renovation <br /> projects. <br /> While the meeting was recessed from 8: 25 P.M. to 8 : 30 P.M. , Mr. Fornell <br /> calculated the net assessment which would reflect the curb credit. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sundland to adopt <br /> Resolution 77-040 which establishes the gross amount to be assessed to <br /> benefited properties on 29th Avenue N.E. , for Street Improvement 1976-1 <br /> as $120, 960. 48. <br /> Before voting on the motion, the following amendment was made: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Miedtke to deduct <br /> from the gross figure above the amount of $13 , 308 for curb and gutter re- <br /> placement cost to be spread equally over 69 2/3 parcels on 29th and will <br /> result in an amended net assessment of $107, 652 . 48 . <br /> RESOLUTION 77-040 <br /> A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE AMOUNT THE CITY WILL <br /> PAY ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-1 AND THE AMOUNT TO BE <br /> • ASSESSED ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-1 <br /> The amended resolution passed unanimously. <br /> :lr . Fornell ' s August 22nd update of figures set out in his August 19th <br /> memorandum for establishing an assessment for Street Improvement Project <br /> 1976-2 which tied a major Columbia Heights street improvement project <br /> into Stinson Boulevard at Silver Lane was accepted in the following <br /> motion: <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sauer to adopt <br /> Resolution 77-041 establishing the amount to be assessed to the benefited <br /> property at 2401 Silver Lane by Street Improvement Project 1976-2 as <br /> $996 . 61 . <br /> RESOLUTION 77-041 <br /> A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE AMOUNT TO BE ASSESSED <br /> ON STREET IMPROVEMENT 1976-2 AND THE AMOUNT THE CITY WILL PAY <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Soth had conferred during the recess with Mr. and Mrs . Ervin Beutz <br /> and C .W. Bartlett regarding the plat approval of the property on 39th <br /> Avenue N. E. , which the Beutzes had purchased for a car wash and he re- <br /> ported there is some question of whether the original owner_ of the pro- <br /> perty listed on the plat should be Apache Realty Fund or the Apache <br /> Corporation, as explained in his August 23rd memorandum.
