• Nursing Services established as a result of the Community Health Services Act of 1976 . He said this group doesn' t feel the supplemental services which North Memorial provides can be adequately provided by the City' s previous vendor, Suburban Public Health Nursing Services , which is based in St. Louis Park. A report was made by the Manager of his attendance at the National League of Cities Conference in San Francisco. Councilman Stauffer and Mr. Fornell will attend the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities meeting to be held January 5th and other Council members who may not be able to attend will let the Manager know what their specific concerns are which they would like acted upon at the meeting. Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Haik to cancel the regularly scheduled Council meeting of December 27, 1977 unless pressing business should arise to necessitate holding that meeting as will be evidenced by notification by the Manager by December 21st. Motion carried unanimously. Means of notifying the public of possible vacancies on the Council and Planning Board were discussed with Councilman elect Clarence Ranallo. Peggy Engholm of the New Brighton Bulletin was to be given a copy of the ruling from the City Attorney on the appointment process and she will • publicize this and the Manager will alert the contact groups normally notified of such City business that resumes of anyone interested in serving on either body must be submitted in time to be considered by the Council at its January 24 , 1978 meeting. Councilman Sauer reminded the Council that they and the District #282 School Board have been invited to attend the meeting of the Community Services Advisory Committee December 21st. He also reported requests from the residents on Skycroft Drive to have a path plowed across Central Park for the use of school children from that area. Mr. Fornell said the Public Works Department is also considering plowing the Mirror Lake Holding Pond for skating purposes and Councilman Haik wondered if there could not be a cooperative effort established with Columbia Heights to provide skating facilities on Silver Lake. The November Fire Department report was filed. Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Sauer to grant all licenses listed in the December 13, 1977 agenda with the addition of those reported as an addendum by the Manager, restaurant and vending to the Apache Coffee Shop and heating to Domestic Mechanical Contractors : Motion carried unanimously. • Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Sauer to approve payment of all Verified Claims listed in the December 13 , 1977 Agenda.
