" <br /> 4 Malwwske observed that the number of non-medicals had remained <br /> 5 constant while the medical emergencies have more than doubled. <br /> 6 Enrooth reiterated his perception that the "City was really operating <br /> 7 a paramedic service which occasionally fought fires. " <br /> 8 Sundland asked Mr. Childs to relay the Council's appreciation of the <br /> 9 "fine report Lee Entner had submitted. " <br /> 10 June Liquor Operation Sales Summary <br /> 11 Ordered filed with no comments. <br /> 12 St Anthony/New Brighton June 21 1988 Chemical Committee Minutes <br /> 13 Sundland indicated he appreciated receiving the above report before <br /> 14 ordering it filed. <br /> 15 CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br /> 16 July 5. 1988 Staff Meeting Notes <br /> • 17 In reference to the list of topics which would be covered in the next <br /> 18 Newsletter, MakOvske wondered whether an article on the new <br /> 19 playground equipment planned for Central Park would be included. Mr. <br /> 20 Childs said he wanted to hold that story over until he had pictures <br /> 21 to be included with the story. The Manager indicated photos were <br /> 22 the latest improvements in the Newsletter and the July 15th issue <br /> 23 would be carrying a photo of the new carbon filtration plant, which <br /> 24 should be operational by the end of next week. <br /> 25 Many Officials to be Invited to Participate in City's July 26th <br /> 26 Celebration of Again Having "Clean, Drinkable Water" <br /> 27 Childs anticipated inviting the news media as well as staff and the <br /> 28 Councilmembers to participate in the 6:00 P.M. program to precede the <br /> 29 Council meeting that evening. He indicated that even if Well #3 <br /> 30 wasn't on line that night, water would be run through the carbon <br /> 31 filtration system to demonstrate how it operates. The person who <br /> 32 helped the City obtain the $150,000 Ramsey County Community Block <br /> 33 Grant funds for the project as well as Commissioner Salverda would <br /> 34 be included in the guest list and the City Manager suggested the <br /> 35 state and federal agencies people might like to attend to find out <br /> 36 how "St. Anthony had managed to get accomplished in four months what <br /> 37 none of them had been able to do in six years. " "The Army might also <br /> 38 like to come to drink some of our clean water" , Sundland suggested. <br /> 10 <br />
