• 5) The enclosed 1995 annual report and "Current Program Summary" describes the <br /> programs and services NYFS offers. <br /> 6) In 1995, the St. Anthony police Department referred the following diversion/restitution <br /> cases (breakdown by city): <br /> CITY REFERRED SENT BACK TO PD. <br /> Lauderdale: 2 0 <br /> Falcon Heights 4 0 <br /> St. Anthony 5 1 <br /> In 1996 (as of 7/97) the St. Anthony Police Department referred the following cases: <br /> Lauderdale 1 0 <br /> Falcon Heights 4 0 <br /> St. Anthony 3 1 <br /> 7) In 1995, NYFS received 9 new intakes referred by ISD #282 and worked with 11 cases <br /> through the Northwest Counseling Center. In addition, mental health staff provided the <br /> school district with 10.5 hours of parent education, 22 hours of school groups, 81.5 <br /> hours of consultation to the Student Assistant Team, and 6 hours of presentations to <br /> school staff or networking with school staff. <br /> 8) The goal of the Teen Center is to provide a safe atmosphere for youth aged 11-15 who <br /> • otherwise have no place to go and to provide positive adult role models for youth and to <br /> refer them to services as appropriate. <br /> 9) The youth diversion program diverts youth from the Ramsey County Court system to <br /> NYFS, a community-based alternative which holds them accountable for their offense. <br /> Offenders (and their parents) are mandated by the police or courts to meet with the <br /> NYFS diversion coordinator to determine restitution. Restitution may consist of financial <br /> repayment, volunteer community service hours and/or attendance at the appropriate <br /> awareness seminar for the youth and their parents. Ramsey County Corrections tracks <br /> our recidivism rate for this program. Our recidivism rate for 1995 is 10%. <br /> Youth from Lauderdale, Falcon Heights and St. Anthony are also referred to NYFS by <br /> the Ramsey County Juvenile Intake Division (in addition to being referred by the St. <br /> Anthony Police Department). In 1995, NYFS worked with a total of 8 Lauderdale and <br /> Falcon Heights youth. Of that number, 2 were referred by Ramsey County Intake and <br /> 6 were referred by the St. Anthony Police Department. In 1995, NYFS worked with 7 <br /> St. Anthony youth of which 2 were referred by Ramsey County Court Intake and 5 were <br /> referred by St. Anthony Police Department. <br /> Of the agency total of 271 youth cases diverted to NYFS in 1995, 20 were returned to <br /> the referring police department or court intake.
