-2- <br /> Ordinance <br /> 2-Ordinance No. 66-I was introduced for 1st reading. Mr. George Zahhos spoke <br /> in opposition to the Ordinance stating that he felt that a commercial use <br /> of the property would add to the congestion of 37th Avenue N.E. and that the <br /> property should remain in its present zoning category. There being no further <br /> discussion, Councilman Springer moved and seconded by Councilman Crouse that <br /> Ordinance 66-I not be adopted on first reading. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Springer, Crouse <br /> Nay: O'Connor, Dougherty <br /> Absent not voting: Emond <br /> Motion not carried. <br /> After further discussion, Councilman Dougherty moved and seconded by Mayor <br /> O'Connor that the 1st reading of Ordinance 66-I be tabled to March 26, 1968. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> A review of bids as advertised for the repair of Well #5 is as follows: <br /> • Keys Well Drilling Co. $ 2,777.00 <br /> Layne-Minnesota Co. 2,475.00 <br /> McCarthy Well Co. 3,176.00 <br /> Thein Well Co. 2,929.00 <br /> Bergerson-Caswell Inc. 4,045.00 <br /> E. H. Renner & Sons Inc. 3,175.00 <br /> DeWayne Olson, Village Engineer, explained the bidding as opened 12:00 o'clock <br /> noon March 11, 1968. <br /> Councilman Dougherty moved and seconded by Mayor O 'Connor that the low bid of <br /> Layne-Minnesota in the amount of $2,475.00 be accepted as recommended by the <br /> Village engineer. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer , Crouse <br /> Nay: None <br /> Absent not voting: Emond <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> After discussion, motion by Mayor O'Connor and seconded by Councilman Crouse <br /> that an excavation permit be granted for a 33 unit apartment at 3800 High- <br /> crest Road. <br /> Motion Carded. <br /> Mr. Robert Bailey reviewed the Park Board minutes of March 5, 1968. <br />
