Councilman Springer introduced Resolution No. 68-036 and moved that it be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 68-036 A RESOLUTION VACATING CERTAIN STREETS IN RAMSEY COUNTY. The resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Crouse. Voting on the resolution: Aye : O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Emond, Crouse Nay: None Resolution declared adopted. The meeting was recessed at 9:50 P.M. and reconvened at 10:00 o'clock P.M. All present. The liquor stores June Sales Report was received. The Village Manager was instructed to contact Apache Center representatives relative to sales trends at the center. The Council directed that the possibilities of a temporary traffic signal installation at 37th Avenue N.E. and Silver Lake Road be investigated. The traffic count of 37th Avenue N.E. and Silver Lake Road as prepared by Hennepin County was received. The Kenzie Terrace pre-construction meeting minutes and other letters of corr- espondence were received and ordered filed. The proposal to extend the improvement of Macalaster Drive south of the Soo Line Railroad to include the entrances of the Berger Transfer and Diamond Eight Apartments and to terminate the improvement of Highcrest Road in a radius north of the driveway entrance to the apartments being constructed on the Michael - Anna Plat was approved by the Council . Councilman Springer presented a written report to members of the Council outlining his feelings as to the establishment of a Human Relations Commission. He stated that he would request a resolution be prepared by the Village Attorney for his submission to the Council at the July 23 , 1968, meeting. Councilman Springer requested that any action on the matter be tabled to the August 13 meeting as he would be on vacation July 23rd.
