-3- <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to authorize the donation <br /> of the 8 track tapes which had been recovered by the Police Department to the VA <br /> Hospital. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilman Haik nominated Earl Scott, 3112 Wendhurst Avenue N.E. , to serve on the <br /> St. Anthony Human Relations Committee and Councilman Stauffer reported that the <br /> committee had set the first Tuesday of each month as their regular meeting date. <br /> It was decided that the next newsletter should go out about May 1st and that one <br /> article in it should be devoted to the functions of the Planning Board and the <br /> Human Relations Commission and should include an introduction of new members <br /> serving on the two committees. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to accept the bid <br /> and award the contract for a sewer rodder to Flexible Pipe & Tool Company for <br /> $5,696.00. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Council directed the City Manager to mount a more extensive patrolling effort <br /> towards controlling the number of unleashed dogs running loose in the community <br /> and to report back to the Council the results of such efforts early this spring. <br /> • Communications from the League of Minn. Municipalities regarding the office loc- <br /> ation of the League and the Legislative Action Conference scheduled by the <br /> League were commented on by Mayor Miedtke and Mr. Dulgar and the Council was <br /> invited to attend the conference. <br /> The Annual Police Report was discussed and filed. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to request Hennepin <br /> County to re-evaluate the commercial and industrial property in St. Anthony and <br /> to authorize the transfer of funds to pay the estimated cost of $21875.00 for <br /> such service. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The possibility of enactment of a Metro Park and Open Space Bill by the State <br /> Legislature was discussed. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Haik to direct the City Attorney <br /> and City Manager to contact Ramsey County to obtain a description of what property <br />-- is to be acquired as right-of-way for the expansion of Silver Lake Road and to <br /> present to the Council their recommendations on procedures necessary to attain <br /> the necessary property. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. I.C. Comstock, City Engineer reported that he felt it was feasible for the <br /> City of St. Anthony Maintenance Department to build the walkway around the hold- <br /> ing pond and the project was to be placed on the agenda of the next Council <br /> meeting. <br />
