-3- Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to authorize the donation of the 8 track tapes which had been recovered by the Police Department to the VA Hospital. Motion carried. Councilman Haik nominated Earl Scott, 3112 Wendhurst Avenue N.E. , to serve on the St. Anthony Human Relations Committee and Councilman Stauffer reported that the committee had set the first Tuesday of each month as their regular meeting date. It was decided that the next newsletter should go out about May 1st and that one article in it should be devoted to the functions of the Planning Board and the Human Relations Commission and should include an introduction of new members serving on the two committees. Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to accept the bid and award the contract for a sewer rodder to Flexible Pipe & Tool Company for $5,696.00. Motion carried. The Council directed the City Manager to mount a more extensive patrolling effort towards controlling the number of unleashed dogs running loose in the community and to report back to the Council the results of such efforts early this spring. • Communications from the League of Minn. Municipalities regarding the office loc- ation of the League and the Legislative Action Conference scheduled by the League were commented on by Mayor Miedtke and Mr. Dulgar and the Council was invited to attend the conference. The Annual Police Report was discussed and filed. Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to request Hennepin County to re-evaluate the commercial and industrial property in St. Anthony and to authorize the transfer of funds to pay the estimated cost of $21875.00 for such service. Motion carried. The possibility of enactment of a Metro Park and Open Space Bill by the State Legislature was discussed. Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Haik to direct the City Attorney and City Manager to contact Ramsey County to obtain a description of what property -- is to be acquired as right-of-way for the expansion of Silver Lake Road and to present to the Council their recommendations on procedures necessary to attain the necessary property. Motion carried. Mr. I.C. Comstock, City Engineer reported that he felt it was feasible for the City of St. Anthony Maintenance Department to build the walkway around the hold- ing pond and the project was to be placed on the agenda of the next Council meeting.
